Navy Seal Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) training 2001.
    [/img]

Could be AF guys but I dont think they use M60s.

    Rock n Roll!

A Navy friendly forces member, armed with a M-4 carbine, stands on top of a roof for a better view to engage on simulated enemy forces moving in. This was during a Non-Combatant Evacuation scenario during exercise DESERT RESCUE IX. Desert Rescue is the premiere Search And Rescue (SAR) training exercise involving Navy, Army, Air Force, and Marine personnel. It is conducted at the ranges of Fallon Naval Air Station, Nevada.

I think the SEALs still use the M-60E3 a fair amount but they seem to have fallen into disfavor everywhere else, so I'm pretty sure the guys in the photos aren't AF... I could be wrong. Hopefully Pave or Havoc will weigh in on it.

    Thanks for sharing man!

    So many good photos!

And the MG shown below should be a M60E4, Mk43Mod0, one of MG only used by Seals.

    Thumbs up

    Ooopsie heres the link:
    http://www.fumento.com/weblog/archiv...ght_at_ra.html

    Partial quote:
"...We broke into a house to observe from the roof and provide covering fire for the Iraqis, then we went back down and all hell broke loose so we went storming back up. The enemy was using four vehicles, one for shooting and three VBIEDs -- vehicle-borne IEDs driven by Mooj wanting looking for their 72 virgins. The VBIEDs posed the greatest threat but our guys quickly dropped 40 millimeter propelled grenades on them.

A SEAL near me had an old M-79 grenade launcher that I think was phased out shortly after Vietnam in favor of the M-203, a tube slung below an M-16. I wondered why he'd chosen to carry it but quickly found out.
He fired it like it was just another appendage, taking out a VBIED with a single round. The SEALs fought like machines. T-1 Terminators have nothing on them. In fairly short order, all four vehicles were destroyed...."

They use M79's because an M203 will not fit right on an MK18 Mod 0 (basically an M4 with a 10.3-10.5" barrel). A rail mounted M203 can mount on the Mk18....but it will be REALLY front heavy, so none are used on the weapon. Thats why they lug around M79's, because no one can throw a grenade up to 300 meters.
