Anyone looking for a Sideshow 12" Snake Eyes for LESS THAN RETAIL?!?!
Check out www.CornerStoreComics.com - they're having a 20% OFF all in-stock items (limited time only, order NOW!)
They have Sideshow's 12" Snake Eyes (regular version) for $119.99 + 20% off - puts it down to $96 plus shipping (around $8 - 10).
Great deal considering the figure is going for upwards of $150 on eBay these days!!

NICE SCORE!
I was really apprehensive about this, but for less than $100...it's a deal I can't pass up...especially how HOT this figure will be after the G.I. Joe movie too...

Oh yeah
A month or so ago thier system was hacked and alot of people's cc information was taken and used. One another board that I frequent there were aprox. 5 people or so who had fraudulent charges on their card because Cornerstore said that they don't keep your information. But they do. If you buy from them use cash or paypal.

Re: Anyone looking for a Sideshow 12" Snake Eyes for LESS THAN RETAIL?!?!
There was a massive breach at CSC/Amazing Toys a month or two back(more like two). Tons of people's credit/debit cards got stolen. The usual weird charges showing up, etc. Some people lost thousands of dollars. The one common shopping site was CSC/Amazing Toyz. After initially saying nothing CSC/Amazing Toys claimed it was their card processor that had been hacked. People who hadn't even used the website in a while were being hit with charges.
I followed some advice I'd read and logged in to change my password but that seems to be unsafe itself, and my card was charged two days later to some sort of dating site for $80. I went to my bank and got the charge dropped, and now have to file an affidavit about the fraud.
Eventually it came out that the problem was not the card processor as CSC/Amazing Toys had claimed, but a flaw in their website when they switched over that gave hackers access to all the account info. Giant giant mess. A lot of people are furious with how the store handled it, because the info they gave out was scant and ultimately proven false.
It'll be some long while before I would trust them with my card info again.
EDIT: Doc Holliday beat me to it.

Another worthy purchase is the Hot Toys Military 1/6 Army Sniper at less than $100 bones.
A fantastic figure with the HK rifle, can be bashed into a number of very cool army SF figures.

Doc is right. I have had my CC stolen after makin a purchase from CSC and it is a major bitch despite I was only charged 2 dollars. My card was charged a buck for yahoo wallet and another for an itunes song. I have had my atm deactivated but It has been a month and l havent gotten my new atm card, resulting in me being talked by a banker to make a new account with a 100 dollars deposit. l believe they are givin me a savings account despite not wantin it, so yeah it is a major pain since I could not really buy anythin' on the interweb for a monthand getting a savings account.

Guys there should be no drama about getting a credit card changed. Call up your credit card company, tell them you think the card may have been compromised, and they will immediately ship you a new one in the mail with a new card. Thats all you need to do.

l did that. My bank called me up when they suspect my card bein used by the wrong person, which was great. They also said that they will send me a new atm card, but according to the banker at my local bank, they never sent it; they pretty much kept me there for an half an hour until i agreed to get a new account. They seem to do whatever to get me accept a savings account.
The other banker they got said I have to change my account to be safe and that it has happen to him before. I realized it was BS when he mentioned that he knows another guy with the same name as me. BS since this is another teller who said the same thing to me despite my name is rare.
I entered the bank to to deposit money in my account and asked about when my new card will be in, but it ended up in them flagging my current account, prompting me to deposit 100 dollars for a new account/

that would be about the time I switch banks. I had to cancel a card because I lost my wallet. Called my bank and did everything over the phone. Had a new card in less then a week.

Re: Anyone looking for a Sideshow 12" Snake Eyes for LESS THAN RETAIL?!?!
The point of this thread was to give folks a HEADS UP on a great deal on a 12" figure, not discuss CSC's issues. I think it's been discussed in the past and, while I understand people's frustration regarding CC fraud (as I too have had my CC info stolen online), it's sad to say that if you're shopping online using a CC and you're NOT prepared to have to replace your CC, you're living ignorantly. I'm not saying CSC is not to blame for what happened, but - as someone already said - you can use money order or paypal to buy from them. That's what I do now and CSC still have the best prices around when they have deals like this...just my .02 worth...

True. I didn't mean to hijack the thread and do understand the consequences of replacing my ATM card don't have a CC) since I have replaced my card in the past for losing it and have changed accounts before. I was prepared to replace my CC though since this month was the month my card suppose to expired. I also had no intentions of using my ATM for the next couple of months since I was using paypal instead. However, I am bummed my bank pulled a fast one on me for keepin me there to change accounts, resulting in my account being flagged until I get a new one. That isn't CSC's fault, but the banker at my local bank for trying to force me to get a savings account.
l was just giving my input on what happened with the CSC incident.
Stolen CC happens all the time and I don't think a person should avoid buying stuff from CSC because of that. There is always a risk when doin stuff online, whether it is trading with another poster or buyin stuff on a site.
Anyway, trying to get back to the topic of the thread. for those who lives in Southern California can always visit the store and buy the item from there. One can also do what others have said and use an alternative way of buying goods from them. If paypal or money order is too much of a hassle, one can always buy a prepaid debit card to buy stuff from CSC.

Question: How many of you are going to buy the less-than-retail Snake-Eyes simply for parts? I might e interested in one of the two swords for trade. Mainly because I'm kitbashing my own Snake-Eyes, and am lazy about scratch-building the sword.

Re: Anyone looking for a Sideshow 12" Snake Eyes for LESS THAN RETAIL?!?!
A Debit card is not a Credit Card (Duh, I know)....the point is for online shopping, you should really be using a CREDIT card. Preferrably one that gives you cash back, or points or something for using it.
So long as you buy only what you can afford to pay off each month (eg: do not carry any kind of balance) you will make out in the end, and you will never be responsible for any purchases you may not make.
With a Debit card once the transaction is done that money is gone from your account, and you then have to go through the hassle of having it replaced, with all the annoyances that can go along with that.
Shopping online? use a credit card. My .03 cents.
Oh and I did wind up buying Snake Eyes AND that Hot Toys Sniper

Re: Anyone looking for a Sideshow 12" Snake Eyes for LESS THAN RETAIL?!?!
You have the same chance to have your card info stolen when not buying online. Online has nothing to do with it. It's all the same system and when not buying online you have the extra threat of someone physically handling your card a lot of the time.

Re: Anyone looking for a Sideshow 12" Snake Eyes for LESS THAN RETAIL?!?!
Geez, what a jerk for starting this thread! I just spent $342! Hehe. I kid...about the jerk part!
Woowhooo!
BTW, I used a debit card (should have used credit) and my bank called saying it was flagged as fraud. I told them it was ok and to process it, but they refused and removed the transation. They told me I'd have to call CSC and have them resubmit the order. Sounds very odd to me. Anyway, I called CSC (lady was very nice) and she said they'll just hold the order for me (I live in LA a bit north of their store) and I can pay when I pick it up this Saturday. I think I'll bring cash just in case.
The true challenge will be keeping the additional purchases to a very minimum while I'm there (my first visit) since I'll have both my boys with me (11 and 6 years old).

Re: Anyone looking for a Sideshow 12" Snake Eyes for LESS THAN RETAIL?!?!
Uh, my arguement has nothing to do with using a credit card online or offline, it has to do with using a DEBIT card online versus offline. They are not the same thing.
You use your debit card to pay for $100.00 worth of stuff online. That $100 is immediately deducted from your checking/savings account. Poof, gone. Someone steals that number, suddenly your account (or your maximum allowed daily withdrawal) is missing tons of funds.
That money is gone.
You use a CREDIT card to pay for $100.00 worth of stuff online. You apply the $100 to your line of credit. someone runs up $5000 more on the card, guess what....you still haven't lost a dime. Its a line of credit.
Its a hell of alot easier to dispute charges with a credit card company than it is to get a bank to refund actual currency into your account. They are better about it, but its the TIMING and the headache that are key here.
If your credit card is compromised, you still have money in your bank account. If your debit card is compromised, you're broke.
Big difference.
Plus, credit cards today all give you some bonus for using them...not all debit cards do.

Re: Anyone looking for a Sideshow 12" Snake Eyes for LESS THAN RETAIL?!?!
well I spent almost an hour with Jake or is it josh? One of the guys who runs the store talking about what happened and from what he said it seems rather safe now to use thier site. If your lucky like me and live 15 min away or so from them you can order on the site tell them you'll pay cash when you get there and biggity bam your CC info is safe and no shipping at all. On an other note is getting a hot toys brit on sale there worth it if your just looking for the body and maybe two or three things from the figure and wanting to part out the rest of what you have no need for?

I've had a real rough couple of weeks so if I come off sounding like a jerk... well... sorry but nothing you said there has anything to do with online vs offline. Your line of thinking which I do not debate (of course it depends a lot on your bank or credit card company) has nothing to do with online vs offline. My same argument applies to debit cards. A debit card is no safer in offline transactions than online. It's still all the same system. When you buy something at your local Walmart it's no different than at Amazon. Your card data is still being submitted online. When you swipe your card at Walmart it's still being authorized via an online database and those records can still be stolen. It's happened with a large grocery chain here in the south of the US at least once.
This is not the place for this conversation but I can't really deal with this sort of fear mongering right now and not be a jerk about it. SORRY.
