Having a second look at this picture, this seems to be an actual 1/6 John Connor figure, the hair seems sculpted.
Hope we get more clear pictures.

It is the actual figure. It shouldn't be hard to believe if you've been keeping up on Hot Toys' releases.

Sachiel! You are correct, great photo also! But the awesome scene of John Connor on the side of the helicopter blasting the endoskeleton in the dome twice, he is armed with an HK416. Paladin posted a photo of it on page one. I guess I'm just being picky for a new weapon

How is it that Terminators (both in the film and TV series) have suddenly become vulnerable to bullets and flame?

Your tellin' me. I just got into this hobbie, and its like a virus, I wont stop researching this stuff. The real question is... Cold War Naked Snake? Or John Connor? Or Golgo 13? I second that they release these way too fast.

Well I don't know about the series, but maybe because it's a different kind of metal? More vulnerable. Guess we'll see when the T-800 shows up.

Skynet was blaming rising oil prices for a couple of years but now they're saying it's rising labor costs at the Chinese factories.
Oh wait that was the toy companies, not skynet.

Yeah that bullet vulnerability issue sucks, makes the T series look like a 3rd world car.

Re: Hot Toys Terminator: Salvation-John Connor- it's official
At the risk of joining the geek parade of sci fi debaters ... I thought it was only the T800 and later models that had the nigh invincibility to bullets and flame. These are the earlier predecessors so it would stand to reason they might not be as formidable. I'm going to have to rewatch the original before going to see this one to see if it's explained consistently between the two. But then again, the Walmart theory sounds good. :o)
This does look like a great figure though. Good cross-over for movie collectors and military types.

Re: Hot Toys Terminator: Salvation-John Connor- it's official
I think you are reading a lot into the "vulnerability to bullets & fire" thing. I haven't seen the new film (has anyone not connected to the film?) so I can only speak about the preceeding three films and the TV show. The terminators have always been vulnerable to some extent to bullets, it's really about WHERE you hit them. Since their "hyperalloy" skeleton is as strong as armor most bullets bounce off. The force of the projectiles kinetic energy does cause the terminator to react, fall, get propeled back, etc. This sometimes does cause damage that can later be repaired or, if not serious enough to effect the mission, ignored. The repairs, both minor and major, are shown in each film and the TV show, and the machine keeps on ticking. Even the liquid metal T3 was slowed through the use of firepower a number of times. It takes a lot to put a terminator down permanently, that's why the humans use explosives against them so frequently - a big punch. As for fire, I haven't seen an instance where a terminator was vulnerable to ordinary fire. Unless you are talking about when a terminator carcass is to be disposed of and as shown on the TV show I think it was a thermite grenade that was used to burn and melt the hyperalloy metal or perhaps fuse mechanical and skeletal parts together to make them useless and unrepairable. It's certainly not like you can pick up any peashooter and retire a terminator on a mission but they are not indistructible. To borrow from another genre that would truely make resistance futile. Might as well stick your heads between your legs and...well you know the rest.

Strange how this pic and the first teaser look like two different figures.

Them's some big eyes though...think it's just the eyes that are throwing me off...at least they got the hairline right. That's a damn tight haircut.

I think the movie is going to be really good, and they picked the perfect actor to lead the resistance. This figure is a "must buy" for me!

Re: Hot Toys Terminator: Salvation-John Connor- it's official (another pic!)
Hiya, y'all!
Great looking figure... I hope I find a job soon so I can afford all this neato stuff!
As to the terminators resistance (no pun intended!) to gunfire, if I recall correctly in the first two films he is pretty much getting hit by pistol caliber fire (9mm) or shotguns. The one exception I can think of is the attack on the police station in the first film, I know Ed (Lance Henrikson) lights him up with a M16. There's a BIG difference penetration-wise between 9mm, double ought buck, and M193 / M855 ammo.

Absolutely perfect. Squad building at this price is going to hurt.
