Not too shoddy but won't be buying. If you listen really carefully in the background you can hear Christian Bale swearing at the director of photography!!!

this is a weird piece to make...off topic..it'll be interesting to see how the interaction in the movie is between the capture people and the terminators/machines such as speech, something that has not been closely covered in the glimpses of the future previously presented.
Re: New from Hot Toys: Terminator Salvation - Terminator Factory - T 700 Diorama
Buy one and get some mirrors, then you can have a production line without spending megabucks. Actually, I have a feeling that, when they did the original T2 teaser in the factory, that was precisely what they did.
Re: New from Hot Toys: Terminator Salvation - Terminator Factory - T 700 Diorama
I think it appears rougher in finish because this isn't a T-800 like AHNULD. It's a T-700, it's not as advanced. I'm sure all will become clear when the movie is released.

I only have limited info about the movie but I think that is exactly correct. The factory is refurbishing used and abused terminators, probably construction new ones too. Here's a link with some screen shots: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0438488/. One shows Bale walking past a couple of completed T700's in a rig that looks very much like the HT model only full body length. I think it's meant to be adjustable.
I like it, I think it's a very imaginative way to use previous molds and still create something new by adding the robotic assembly machine.
The film is supposed to be released in May 2009, that is if Christian Bale doesn't kill everyone connected with the film first.

Re: New from Hot Toys: Terminator Salvation - Terminator Factory - T 700 Diorama
i thought the older version terminator is called T-600?
T-600s is supposedly endoskeletons, covered with rubber material. which later being surpassed by newer model T-800s with real human tissues.
though the so called Arnold body terminators could be either T-800s or T-850s.
right??

I'm learning this on the go, but I we seem to be introduced to more about the Cyberdyne Systems battle machine lineage in each film (and the great TV show). It appears that the various terminator models are each an improvement on the last, obviously, but in the new film we are being given more information about the R&D of the "T" models. Have you seen the first terminator in human form (endoskeleton) the T-70 or the T-meg (T-1000000 or T-one million), which is made from "mimetic alloy" (like the T1000). God, I hope some nut case jackass scientist doesn't actually build these things!
Re: New from Hot Toys: Terminator Salvation - Terminator Factory - T 700 Diorama
I kind of like it. I think it would go nice with any Terminator collection. Of course, I will have to wait to see what the price is going to be before I decide if I'm gonna pick one up.
Re: New from Hot Toys: Terminator Salvation - Terminator Factory - T 700 Diorama
I hope HT hitching their wagon to The Spirit and T: Salvation doesn't hurt them. I guess this movie might be a hit, but don;t people usually spend $100+ on iconic figures?

In those IMDB shots, the Endos are complete on this rack, so I'm thinking this is just some way for Hot Toys to sell us crap before they give us the real goods. This is well executed (if it's movie accurate), and I'm sure it will be even more awesome when the movie comes out, but right now it's just DUMB. Why would there be a beat up looking endo on a factory rack? Recycling, really? Is Skynet into Green all of sudden after blowing up the Earth, or is Skynet trying to save a buck because materials are expensive and it's not cost effective to build all new endos? Skynet's saving a bundle on labor using human slaves, according to Kyle '84. This makes no sense, but I blame the writer and director.

Well, if your entire civilization were robots made of metal, you wouldn't just bury the non-functioning machines, would you? Kind of a waste.

Well it's not like there are humans keeping the factory and it's production line clean! A lot of things in factories get dirty and I'm sure in one run by human killing robots the situation would be worse! Think about it, why would an automated factory care about keeping it's metal parts clean?
Re: New from Hot Toys: Terminator Salvation - Terminator Factory - T 700 Diorama
Ive read some happy comments that its cheaper than the regular HT releases, But thats bullshit. I can get a fully loaded out Ranger or 1/4 of an Endo on pole for a $100?! The Endo, assembly rig and the base are nice, But whats up with the plain pole holding it up? If theyre gonna take liberties why not something more than a pole? I like the idea of HT doing display peices for a property like Terminator but I wouldve liked something different. It really seems like this wouldve been a great display base for the figure itself. But again they may not be doing a T700 in full scale, and giving us this instead. Id like to think we're getting a kickass T600 for sure, Bale, Marcus, maybe Kyle, a T800(with accurate camoflaged Arnie head pending approval)? But HT doesnt seem to like to get to deep into movie lines, Im still depressed over not getting a TDK Gordon.

First, it's usually humans that make a factory a mess. Second, we're talking about a self aware, super genious computer. Could it not keep itself clean or build little droids for the job. If Terminators can mimic human behavior, maybe they can be programmed with house keeping skills.
And why would they care about keeping clean, hmmm, let me think... Oh yeah, Skynet ends up using real living tissue over its endosekeletons. Real tissue would get infected and rotten over rusty, beat up metal, that's why the Cameron endos were clean. And if you've seen the teaser trailer for T2, you see how clean and shiny the factory is.
And don't start arguing with Cameron, or making up some BS crap to explain this rusted thing like the new writer possibly did because Cameron invented this S-H-I-T and he knew what was cool.
Cameron in charge equals kickass. Cameron not involved at all equals T3, and maybe worse. We'll see. I already have issue with what appear to be huge 600 series endos that could never possibly pass for human with rubber skin or real. That wasn't Cameron's vision. The 600s, like the 800s, were infiltrators that were only spotted because of their rubber skin. see also Terminator 1984. If each screenwriter would just take notes on Kyle's first hand account of the future instead of pulling BS fantastic crap out of his butt, we would have the next Terminator worthy sequel.
Re: New from Hot Toys: Terminator Salvation - Terminator Factory - T 700 Diorama
wow...now i can have a terminator without all the nuisance of legs and arms and...err..ya know...a whole freaking figure.of course i'd be willing to shell out 3 digits..who wouldnt(blatant low sacasm). as for all the talk of 'how will they integrate this info into the storyline?'...we do know that most screenwriters just make it up as they go,dont we? if this movie follows most sequels....and this is just my humble worthless opinion...well...look at what happened to the 'alien/s' franchise.good movie followed by a great sequel(then a rarity) followed by an awfull second sequel, followed by an even more awfull...and more awfull...and well...look...i liked 'harley davidson and the marlbourogh man' so what do i know? just hope christian doesnt know something we dont.
