Fernspähkompanie FSLK 200 (German LRRP) wip...

The term Fernspähkompanie denotes a Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol unit of company size of the Bundeswehr.
The FSLK 200 consists of four LRRP-platoons, an additional special applications LRRP-squad, several maintenance squads, a specialized medical squad and a specialized field signal squad. The overall-strength is said to match a number of over 200 soldiers. The FSLK 200 is directly subordinate to the Division Spezielle Operationen (Division Special Operations) of the Army (formerly 1. Luftlandedivision (1st Airborne Division)) and is a part of the recently created branch "Heeresaufklärungstruppe" (Army Reconnaissance Troops).

Like all other units of the Bundeswehr, too, the FSLK 200 needs an approval of the Bundestag to become active. However, this permission can be requested later if the situation requires quick actions (The same procedure applies for the KSK). Any operations of the FSLK 200 are kept secret. Nonetheless, it is known that Fernspäher have carried out missions during operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, during Kosovo War and later during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Additionally, Fernspäher were used in Congo with the European Union mission EUFOR.

The arsenal of the Fernspäher is mainly based on stock issued weapons of the Bundeswehr, but with special additions not available to regular troops. The main weapon system is the Heckler & Koch G36 assault rifle, followed by the HK MP5 SMG in several variants. The mainly used heavy weapons are the Bundeswehr's GPMG Rheinmetall MG3, the HK G8 Machine gun, and sniper rifles G22/G24 produced by Accuracy International. The basic sidearm is the HK P12-pistol, a .45 ACP Heckler & Koch USP Tactical variant.

The motto of the Fernspäher is "Oculus exercitus" (lat.: The eye of the Army), the motto of Fernspäher Forces within the KSK is "Als erste rein, als letzte raus" (to translate as First in - last out).

Info taken from wikipedia.org

This wip is more of a trial bash since I wanted to use all Flectarn camo uni, but since its getting harder to acquire this items, I had to use what I had in hand.
Let's call it an Afghanistan mission version
Like always changes and additions will be done as I progress.
Bergen will be replace later with the OD HT version, additional belt kit will be added too.
For now this is how it looks, comments and suggestion are always welcome...

Boy, I bet you and I aren't the only ones wishing for more temperate flectarn uniforms. Looking forward to this one as it progresses.

Thanks Aly, I sent you a pm.

cdn_rhino thanks man, I just have a few and i'm kicking myself for not getting more

Thanks Leo

Griz, I tell you those big 1/6 companies are nutsy, they say this won't sell, but we all know this things sell since there is hardly any of this items left for sale

Ok, back to the wip
Did some work on a custom vest, still working out the details.

Comparison pics to the other 2 older vests that I made.

Testing it out on the fig, the question now, is what looks better?
This one or the original test wip?

wip continues...

I think the custom Woodland Flecktarn vest looks better. This could've been that the LRRP looked like in the 'Stan before desert uniform items became available on mass.

Wow didnt know there was only one set available! I love flecktarn and wear it when skirmishing. I've attached some pics of my 'battle worn' trousers for you, to help weathering.

If you put your figures trousers in the wash it should lighten them a bit. Also if you leave them in on a window-sil that gets allot of light, then the sun will bleach them slightly (can take a while tho!!!) Hope these pics help mate!

If going with early Afghanistan, I would say the one with the tan chest rig. More of a arrid looking figure, and early in the war lots of desert stuff was mixed and matched, so it looks a bit more authentic.

But that's just me. They both look real good.
