Darnit! Just read that newsletter, too. I was thinking that this was exactly the sort of news that would make me break down and get something Iron Man related. If it's anything like their Robocop figures, it would be awesome!

I think it'll be more like their Robocop offerings.

Well this will mark the end of my buying Hasbro and ToyBiz 12 inch figures. If HT can get Iron Man license, God knows what other Marvel licenses they have or plan to have up their sleeves.

I can and will wait

This is AWESOME news.

Maybe this means we'll get a truly 1/6th scale "snap kit" Hulk, too. Hint, hint!

Don't get me wrong. For the price point, I still love the roto cast version from the first movie. Sculpting and paint apps was superb, and at 13" tall in a semi-squatted / bent knee pose he is more than close enough to 1/6th IMHO. Having said that, I wouldn't mind seeing a HT super articulated version ... and bring on the joints ... no rubber muscle body.

I read the news today, oh boy

As much as I love HT I have high hopes SS or Hasbroke will do something affordable and a lot less fragile.

Great news... I love the Robocop figure and I could see HT really knocking a Movie Iron Man out of the park.

Although a little surprised (pleasantly) that Medicom is making this, seeing as how they've been releasing all of the previous Marvel movie figures.

Latest is that it will light up and have a moveable mask to show a Downey sculpt.

This sure is great news. About to go see the movie tonight (heard its one of the best superhero movie ever made, and got raging reviews, 94% at Rottentomatoes). Hope I love the movie, and would sure to have a high quality HT figure for it. Lights up gimmick sure is a welcome.

You'll enjoy it mpchi. I just saw it and it was pretty dang good. I don't mind lighting up, I'd like to be able to retrofit the armour to other figures though :P I'm an odd one, I know.

I can't wait for some pics of this guy. I'll bet it's mostly solid plastic parts like Robocop, with maybe a soft section in the mid torso for articulation's sake. Hoping it'll be nice and hot rod shiny!

I'm pretty confident when it comes to HT stuff. Just depends on how good or articulated the figure might be. Some removable panels will be nice, but just being a figure with the usual HT quality and a nice Robert Downey Jr. head sculpt would be good enough. The light up gimmick will just be icing on the cake. Hope there will be a prototype pic soon.

I'm sure they're already planning repaints, like the Mark II all-silver version, I'll bet we'll see a battle-damaged version as well.

I was just thinking the same thing!

I saw the movie last night and can't wait to see what HT can do with the MkIII armor!
