Wow !! - this looks fantastic
It's allways the same - one puts a year + of work into a custom - and then hot toys beats you ......
Still, I will get one of those for sure !

Excellent. Definitely one for me. I do hope they expand into other characters from the series too. Davy Jones would make a great figure. Thanks for the heads-up, Rex.

I don't see Depp in that figure. Wonder how the outfit will compare to Medicom's Jack.

I think the HT version will be in more collectors financial reach than Kojuns.

Yep nice figure from Konjun but the price will as nice
I think that the Hot Toys one will be better then the Medicom figure like superman returns figures. Maybe I am saying that because I love Hot Toys figures

There's never quite anything like a Korean master sculptor for giving general-release hopes and expectations that sinking feeling. Sigh. The Hot Toys one will still be a most welcome addition to my shelves.

Looks like a very cool figure!
I just hate that mini one on the right. It's downright obnoxious.

From the looks of the pic it is already better then the Medicom version. Not sure what the final product will look like however but im guessing with a little customizing help it could look pretty good.

Sorry fellas, but nothing stands out to make me say it is any better than the Medicom version. This one does look very good, I am not taking that away.

Thanks for the additional pics Rex. I agree his expression is a bit too serious. Shoulda had manic grin.
Yunfat figure look good too but I think it'll need a heavy weathering to get rid of the cheap look from the green robe and the plasticky shoulder armour.
Now, where's Captain Barbossa?

I love it and I'll buy it !
But I'm a bit worry about the hands which don't seem to be bendy. The way Jack holds his pistol sounds a little strange and I'm afraid he won't be able to hold his sabre at all.
That would be a big disppointment for me. But not enough to pass on this long awaited figure.

Well you can always grab a pair of Hot Toys bendy hands and attach them to Jack Sparrow. Rings can probably be cut out from moulded hands and positioned on bendies too.
Did I mention your Black Beard is MUCH cooler then this Jack Sparrow?

Medicom blows this Hot Toys version out of the water... but you simply cant compare the two to Kojun's work...
I think the Hot toys version looks like a cheap bash to be honest... the hs looks nothing like depp.

Hot Toys work always looks amazing but my personal experience with their 1:6th scale figures is not good. I will never buy another Hot toys figure because they use cheap Mcfarlane type plastics on their costumes and accesories. I have always been very pleased with Medicoms quality and overall balance of work and especially the materials they use to construct their figures.

I have owned the Medicoms version and the sculpt looked retarded. He looked like he was a memebr of a boy band. Looked nothing like Depp. This one is close but still needs alittle work. The clothes on the Medicom version wasnt bad but the body was way to thin and short. I think this one will be a great addition. The accessories alone already are beating the Medicoms version. Neca put out a fairly descent Depp sculpt.
