In an awesome move we have Medicom and Kaiyodo coming together to create the 1/6 of my dreams! Kenshiro from Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star) is on the horizon!!
This could mean that RAOH himself will follow!!!

Ha ha ha ha, I remember Fist of the north star. He does some Bruce Lee sounds and his enemies literally explode into a bloody mess from the tremendous force of his punches. Nice figure.

Well, bad news. Otomo and Medicom had a very public falling out right around the time the three figures were originally released (another reason why it goes for so much on the secondary market). So no new Akira stuff from Medicom at all.

Kaiyodo should just ditch Medicom and do 12" figures of their own. Their sculpts on kits were awesome. They were the only company to fully nail Han Solo. Oh god, what a thought, maybe Medicom will bring out a Han with Kaiyodo's sculpt on it!! That would be the nuts and will spawn dozens of top Han bashes.

Medicom does the best clothes, Kaiyodo does the best sculpts so it's like Peanut butter and chocolate. Two great things that are great together.

Mmm.... chocolate!
As Medicom already have a Star Wars license, they could now do figures that would knock SS's efforts right out of the park. Bring it on I say!

Darn. I was really hoping that we would get an updated Kaneda, pretty much like we got another (improved) Rocketeer.
Here's to hoping Takara picks this license up.

I has changed a bit. He looks more like his anime counterpart it seems now. Either way, I'm already committed to buying one. Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star is one of my favorite anime and manga series to ever have existed. I can't wait for Rei as well!

I'm guessing Rei has a higher price tag because he has a smaller run of figs and is therefore more expensive to produce. They both look great either way and I have them on pre-order. Looking at this thread has it really been a year since they first showed the prototype? I want mine now!

Well, that certainly looks better than my old Toycom 12" Kenshiro. But, I don't know if I can drop that kinda money on a new figure. Especially when I'd want Ken AND Rei!
If this were 10-15 years ago, I'd be all over this. But now....? Probably not.

A couple pics that might change your mind. Pics from Tin atToysdaily. I wasn't that sold on this figure at first, but gave in after I saw these. The face is quite well done, and all the muscles is shaded with airbrush.
And here is a link with tons of pics showing how poseable the body is. Very picture heavy.

I have been sold on this figure from the beginning but since pics are starting to trickle through from collectors in Asia who have already received theirs I am becoming extremely impatient waiting for Kenshiro and Rei to come out. These pics do not help but they are awesome.

I am waiting impatiently too, hope it won't take too long here.
From the people that bought it, its quite positive. Everybody was happy with the face, body is sturdy and very poseable. Everybody love it having 10 hands to swap, a rare scene from a Medicom figure. Only minor gripes on some screw holes not covered (which I can't say its a disadvantage because it let you fix a loose joint or two if that ever happens).

Hmm.. as a diehard Hokuto no Ken fan, this is a must buy but I'm not liking the headsculpt. In one photo, it looks ok, in another awful, overall not good but must buy regardless...

Got my Ken last night and opened it. Its unreal! It got some pretty bad paint smudge on one of the shoulder blade armor on his back (almost entire thing is smudged), and some slightly looser joints on a few joints. But its so good that those things didn't bother me much. So glad I didn't skip this Ken afterall. The articulation and natural posing put this one of my favorite Medicom releases I have. While share similar body, the normal RAH just doesn't pose as good as Kenshiro. Very awesome. Took me a couple hours to touch up the eyes and small surgeries to fix any looser joints (they are still pretty tight, just not evenly tight on both sides), gave more shape to the eye upper lashes and break the black outline with some white in the inner corner of both eyes closest to the nose. Look a bit closer to the manga now and less of the typical 'outline eyes' from Medicom.
One thing I find you can do to make Ken look nicer. Somehow, Medicom didn't cover all the screw holes of the upper body. 2 on the neck, 1 on each lower arm (covered by wrist bands) and the 2 silver round metal hinge next to the chest front. So apparently, you need 6 screw covers to fill those up. And if you take off Kenshiro's pants and look at the legs, there are just 6 on them. 4 from thighs and 2 from lower legs. They can be easily taken out with a needle or any thing too with a very sharp point, lifting up from the edge. The covers are very soft, so they are easy to take out and put back in. It helps if you have a round smooth tip tool (a round tip chopstick, the back end of a small paint brush, or a tiny pen) to use to push them back in on holes you want to fill, so it won't poke a hole or dent when you push. Also heps to relax the inner under pants from wrinkling and bunching up when you try to put the outer pants back on after you are done. Since Kenshiro will be wear pants all the time, might as well use all those covers on the upper body, where we do expose it from time to time. Looks much better that way.
"YOU ARE SHOCK!!!" I know I am. This is a very nice figure indeed, if not some random minor paint QC issues.
