Max Fleischerīs Ko-Ko the Klown
Ko-Ko the Known - colored Version
Another custom work on demand from the Max Fleischer-Animation- Figures-Series:
Ko-Ko the Klown was the first animated Figure by the Animation Pioneer Max Fleischer.
He started 1919 in the Cartoon Out of the Inkwell.
The figures is based on the new comic by Mitchell Perkins.
In agreement with the author i make his lips red instead of black in the comic.
All Parts are new modelled. The hands and fingers are bendable.
The collar is removeable and flexible at the beim as well as the brims at the arms and legs.
The original from Max Fleischer
(BTW: Fleischer himself made a mistake with his figure- some have the comic hands with 4 fingers, some with normal 5 fingers!)
The new comic by Mitchell Perkins:

Re: Max Fleischerīs Ko-Ko the Klown
for a second there, i thought koko was going to do a strip tease!
this is a fabulous reproduction of the character! just out of curiosity, why the change from black to red? was that the original intention?

Wonderful and refreshing piece. Much more impressive considered the work required to hand-make this. Superb.

The only reason was that the figure looks a little bit scary with the black lips.

Hallo!
Oh no. it's a jedi mind trick.
Now I can't get the refrain of the cartoon song out of my head...
" Out of the ink well comes Ko-Ko the Klown!"
and must not be seduced by the Darkside to go to You Tube...

Highly original : I love the idea, although he's not a character that's familiar to me.
Pretty scary whatever the colour of his lips....

Re: Max Fleischerīs Ko-Ko the Klown
Hallo!
Max Fleischer was a pioneer of the film cartoon and was a rival of Walt Disney in the 1930's.
Most folks do not know him, but his four most famous works are- "follow the bouncing ball" sing-alongs, Superman, Popeye the Sailor, and Betty Boop (assisted by Bimbo and Ko-ko).
Boop-Oop-a-Doop!

Re: Max Fleischerīs Ko-Ko the Klown
Fantastic!!!! Our local tv station recycled all those early cartoons and this really takes me back to childhood Saturday mornings.
