Generalmajor Erwin Rommel, France 1940

Generalmajor Erwin Rommel, Commander of the 7th Tank Division, France 1940
„The place of the military leader in this war is up front. I did not lead as a staff officer from the green table.“
Rommel to Oberst Hesse in France 1940.
The Camera was a gift from Goebbels. Rommel carried his camera during the war and make many Photos with her. Now the Photos are in a Museum in London.

The figure:
Basic was the Cyber Hobby Rommel. I change the visor cap with the one from 3R and put the Cyber Hobby badges on it ( they are smaller and had more details). The uniform get´s the lapels from Toys City- the only real stitched ones. The metal pairs from DiD don´t exist at that time. On his left pocket he wears the loops for his medals. In the field Rommel never wear his medals on the breast. I make his trousers a little bit closer for a better fit and change the braids. The leather boots are from 3R too. Rommel wears normal Officers riding boots without a buckle at the rim. Instead of the black gloved hands he got some in field grey/green like the ones he used in the reverence photo.

Nicely done. Especially good call combining 3R & Cyber pieces, the cap looks good.

Re: Generalmajor Erwin Rommel, France 1940

Thanks for your nice comments.

First he cap looks a litte bit small... I make it wet and bring it in the right form.
It also need another gold cord on the lower edge.
The original 3R badges are a little big- so i use the cyber hobby badges.

Thanks for your kind words.
The Hs is from cyber hobby. It looks much better than the pictures show. The surface is for a Dragon figure fantastic and nearly lifelike.

Re: Generalmajor Erwin Rommel, France 1940

Thank you reguarding the info on the peaked cap. I swapped out the cyber hobby hs from my Rommel and need a peaked cap to fit the smaller head and the right color as well. They never made peaked caps in the color the tunic on the CH Rommel

The colour differs a little in its more greenish shade- but it works and they use not always the same fabrics with all their clothing. If the cap don´t fits- make it wet and bring it in the shape you need. And you have to glue on the lower gold cord on the brim.

Re: Generalmajor Erwin Rommel, France 1940

Very nice. The medal loops look fantastic, and is seldom modelled in our figures.
I id something similar, but initially used a resin HS , then recently switched to the 3R HS. My version was earlier, early May, before he won any WWII medals.

Great to see Rommel without his Knight Cross in the early times of WWII. Rare to see- great work.
