Somua S-35 - France 1940
Hello everybody!
Here is the project which I had for a very long time and which I was able to realize thanks to two friends enthusiast of History and of 1:6 scale.
It is about a French Tank Somua S-35 belonging to the 1er Régiment de Cuirassiers.
This Regiment was integrated into the 3rd DLM, who fought in particular during the Battle of Hannut in Belgium.
This Battle was first tank against tank of the History. It was taken away by French which so demonstrated the superiority of their tanks in front of Panzer.
Today, still, we consider that Somua was the best tank existing in 1940.

Re: Somua S-35 - France 1940
Very nice tank and crew you have there. It's not often that we see 1:6 scale French tanks.
Not to take anything away from what you've created but the first tank vs tank engagement of history was fought on April 24, 1918 between British and German tanks. The Battle of Hannut is considered to be the first large scale tank vs tank battle.

Cool looking tank you and your buddies built. Can you dish on some of the techniques you used to make the parts. Treads, wheels and main body would be most interesting. Looks very well done and nice clean lines.

That looks great!
@Scimitar--I think something was lost in translation and I think he meant that it was part of the first tank vs tank battle in WW2.

Re: Somua S-35 - France 1940
that is the 2nd best tank that I've ever seen, next to the Semovente that Plasticpanzers made for me That is a tank that I would definitely look into purchasing. Again, fantastic job.

Wonderful job! French (and other nations tanks) are woefully lacking
in the hobby and its great to see one done so well!

Re: Somua S-35 - France 1940
A beautiful tank, crew, and presentation. I really like the next to the last pic, which does a good job of representing early color photos. The Germans found that both some French and German AFVs overmatched theirs. Tactics and innovation were their salvation (along with some luck).

Nice..... Very nice.... If one was to remove the rear bill and details on these helmets leaveing the front pad they would make perfect WW2 Canadian cork tank helmets

Re: Somua S-35 - France 1940
Good evening to everybody and one thank you in all!
I am really very proud to have this tank of my country within my collection and happy to see that it pleases you!
The tank in summer realized by Bluchkat and I invite you moreover to go on his its site where he presents its works: http://bluchkatconcept.actifforum.com/f1-mes-vehicules
For the Uniform part, certain equipments result from Serge Bernier edited by Dragon. But a good part (helmets, jackets, holsters, belts) they are made by PAD75 the big specialist of the French army in the scale 1:6.
For H.S we have of Toys soldiers (WW2 Afrikacorps), of the DID (British WW1) and of Calteck (french infantry WW2).
I would soon post you of new pictures!
