Gulliverīs Travels - Paramount 1939
Max Fleischerīs
GULLIVER`S TRAVELS
Paramount 1939
A work for Mitchell Perkins, the author of the new graphic novel "Gulliverīs Travels". The figure is based on the original movie figure from Max Fleischer. The colours of his clothings are not from the well known poster, they are from the original drawnings and ideas from Max Fleischer.
All fabrics are from the 1930th / 1950th and all parts are hand sewn.
On August the figure will present the book on a publishing convention.
The original poster:
Max Fleischerīs scretches:

Re: Gulliverīs Travels - Paramount 1939
Wonderful work, really has the feeling of that classic cartoon movie. And you're right, the colours you've used are not only screen accurate, but much better suited to the feeling of the cartoon than the colours in the poster.
One suggestion if I may. It would be very easy to add to the display a couple of toy soldiers to stand in for Lilliputians, or a small horse, or some tiny bit of landscaping -- anything to really introduce that clash of scale that gives Gulliver's Travels its particular visual impact.

Yes- Fleischer did a fantastic job at that time! And he did it earlier than Walt Disney. Some were made in a special patented Stereo-Optical 3-D process.
Superman... Betty Boop and Popeye as well.

Awesome work. The costume looks fantastic.
I grew up watching cartoons like Gulliver's travel and other Fleischer studio works, along with other cartoons.
