Custom kitbashed US Border Patrol Bortac Agent (Desert tan uniform)
My second attempt at a custom Border Patrol Agent, this time I kitbashed a BORTAC Special Response Team member in desert tan uniform. Let me know what you think?

Probably not, but do any of the other figures being put out now really carry all that crap either?? The loadouts are ridiculous.

This is true. You might enjoy this thread: What are grunts wearing in Afghanistan? If you look hard enough, you'll find the accuracy guys.

Re: Border Patrol Bortac Agent (Desert tan uniform)
I just use the box as a reference.I dont think Ive used all the gear that comes with most of these guys anyhow. Some goes in the spares bins.
And the grunt thread may not help for the loadout of a border patrol agent. But there might be something helpful in there.

Re: Border Patrol Bortac Agent (Desert tan uniform)
These guys wear mostly OD green two piece uniforms but pickings are slim when it comes to the correct versions to choose from. I just went with what was readily available, Think it came out rather nice! Thanks.

You took my idea! Did you make the patches? Also checkout Texas Public Safety tactical guys that do the border stuff... They're pretty cool too.

Re: Border Patrol Bortac Agent (Desert tan uniform)
Great reference photo!! I used the exact same one! Thanks for commenting! As for the patches I used "Onesixthscaleking.com" Robin the owner can create any 1/6 scale patch you can dream of. I had him make the Border Patrol patches for me and now you can purchase them from his website directly, just look under Law Enforcement.

Looks great! Love the hair too, I wish I had done that with my BORTAC guy...and now he looks woefully inadequate in comparison to yours!
Where did you get the belt with LE gear?

Re: Border Patrol Bortac Agent (Desert tan uniform)
Thank you! The duty belt is a bash of I believe Dragon parts and Soldier Story parts. I could not find an H&K P2000 pistol with a Serpa holster so my guy is packing a SIG!

Re: Border Patrol Bortac Agent (Desert tan uniform)
They guys on the Border Patrol TV show looked quite tactical, though like you said wore green, but i think it is a believable look, maybe give him some sort of headwear, in the desert you wouldn't wanna cook your head. Especially with black hair. At least i'd wear a boonie (Or the seemingly favored Ballcap)

Re: Border Patrol Bortac Agent (Desert tan uniform)
I'm still looking for a desert tan boonie, not desert camo just tan. I guess I could also put a tan fast helmet on him but that would cover up his cool hair!

Cool. Well, now I don't have any excuses I guess. I was going to try the more basic green version like this, but I was having a hard time finding a uniform I liked. Here's also the Texas DPS guys, but it's hard to find shots of them.

Re: Border Patrol Bortac Agent (Desert tan uniform)
I am waiting for Robin @ Onesixthscaleking to make the OD green Border Patrol round patch with the Bortac rocker along with the OD green badge patch. He already has the Customs and Border Protection patch in OD green on the website. Have you seen my regular version of a US Border Patrol agent? Maybe get some ideas from that figure as well.

Yeah, that one is nice too. I actually emailed Toy City and suggested they offer some other uniforms like that, such as a basic two piece in green and some other colors... since they seem to be into that kind of thing right now. Somebody there answered and seemed genuinely interested. So who knows, maybe we'll get something like that some day.

Re: Custom kitbashed US Border Patrol Bortac Agent (Desert tan uniform)
The head sculpt is a DID head I found on ebay. The head already had the hair attached. I believe it was supposed to be a sniper head sculpt because the neck portion is permenantly bent upwards as if the figure was supposed to be in a prone postion looking through a rifle scope. I thought it looked cool and used it for my figure.

Pretty cool! I'm surprised though that it took that many posts before someone asked about the rooted head, lol.
