This looks cool and i'm really liking the new suit.
I'm not sure what's going on with the neck though? How are HT planning on making the suit come off the neck to allow for the neck on the unmasked head sculpt to be visible.
I have a feeling HT rushed this one out to coniside with the movie release.

very disappionted to see NO ANKLE ARTICULATIONS. Unfortunately in the high end collectable world it's a must to have action poses that requires ankle flexibility. It's the same problem with the first Spiderman until fans demanded the ankle to have flexibility. Why is HT repeating the same poor design?

Still not sure about the new suit, it has nothing to do with Hot toys.
However, I might change my mind after seeing the movie.

The Hot Toys web shooter looks tragic! See the actual movie versions on the right.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS179 - The Amazing Spider-Man: 1/6th scale Spider-Man
The movie was great!! Saw advanced screening in Australia last night!
Not too sure about the Orange/yellow lenses?? In the movie they are chrome. I don't know why they have done this?? I really hope they change this, if not, my have to do a bit of inhouse doctoring.
I really don't like the alignment of the back of the neck to the upper back of the costume, it is way off, none of the webs line up!! Hope they fix this for the release of the figure. You'll see this in the above photos.
Overall, after seeing the movie, I can't wait for this figure and hopefully Lizard too!

Meh. I dunno why, but I'm not excited about this.
I can save some $$$ on this one!
I guess I don't like the costume design--not HT fault of course. Don't care for the yellow lenses myself...

lol, no way! I like BW a lot more than this particular design of Spider Man.
I just don't like the costume....personal preference is all. Maybe I can get another BW instead, lol.

Good eye! The photos do make it appear that the ankles are not articulated.
I wonder if that is truly the case? My Raimi/Tobey Spider Man's feet are posable.

I agree with everybody else so far. HT did a good job, but it's not their fault if the costume design isn't good. Easy pass for me too...

Re: Hot Toys - MMS179 - The Amazing Spider-Man: 1/6th scale Spider-Man
I thought about getting the Peter Parker head for a bash, but it looks like he's sporting some gashes on his one cheek. Too "movie specific" (ironically), so I think it's a pass for me.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS179 - The Amazing Spider-Man: 1/6th scale Spider-Man
I love Spidey, but disliked the Raimi costume because of the 90's style eyes and the silver webbing. I tend to like this new costume a lot more, even though the lenses are orange and it has all those stupid cuts and lines that are unnecessary. Guess it will be up to the movie to convince me to buy this!

No fault of HT but the costume is unforgivably bad imo.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS179 - The Amazing Spider-Man: 1/6th scale Spider-Man
Regardless if ya'll easily forgive HT for costum desgin, nontheless, torsol stipping doens't lined up, eye shade is wrong color, and no ankle articulation/boot design. Already 3 major faults by HT. These 3 major flaws must be corrected. Onless most you no longer pay attention to details but rather easily dish out your money like "RATS" jumping ship.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS179 - The Amazing Spider-Man: 1/6th scale Spider-Man
New costume on the figure looks a bit too rubbery, and downright saggy/baggy in some of those shots. Can't say I like the Air Arachnid sneakers he's wearing either..! People did mention the inflexibility of the HT Spidey Ver 1.0 boots and I believe HT did in the end make them out of fabric so that they could be posed better... Shame they couldn't show the headsculpt, that's make or break for a lot of these sets...

Re: Hot Toys - MMS179 - The Amazing Spider-Man: 1/6th scale Spider-Man
Dear Hot Toys: Does it even make sense for us to get excited for a new figure from you anymore? I mean, if i buy this figure, how can i know if in a couple of years you release a 2.0 version that makes my old (and expensive) figure look obsolete and worthless? Worse yet, you release a Peter Parker asia-only exclusive that i just can't afford as you have done with the Dark Knight collection? What if i want more characters from this movie, but you just never release them? And this is where my rant ends, sorry guys
