Different Versions of DID Figures?
Hello fellows I was told just a few days ago that Asian eBay has some DID figures I had been looking for but cannot find on US eBay. They cost exactly as if I'm to buy from US (shipping costs aside) but then I was told by the sellers that there are actually a few versions of DID figures. For example I inquired about the DID Lutz Fedder figure and was told that the US version has the serial number 27809, while the overseas version has 30423 and Taiwanese version 28286. He also noted that these are not bootlegs and are all imported by "legitimate proxy agencies". Now these are not like the case with DID Samurai figures; with US and International figures differing in head sculpts. These are all exact same figures (or so they say) but I'm still kind of confused why they make 3 different versions of the same figures? Are there differences in quality then? Like I collect some Japanese animation collectables as well, and if they're not "Japanese version" but "proxy/international version", it usually means the paint application is inferior to the former. Can anyone who know the inside story of DID shed some light on this? Thanks in advance!
