Chase Edmunds from 24, kitting out the figure?
Hi,
I've just started watching season 3 of 24 and really like the character Chase Edmunds played by James Badge Dale:
I'm planning on bashing a figure out of my Subway spares, but, I'm wondering what would be a good HS?
This crossed my mind:
That's the Loading Toys Gavin, it looks pretty close. Are there any others I should consider? Initially I thought of the HT TTM-18 Prison Break sculpt, but the likeness isn't quite there.
So, suggestions would be welcome.....

Hmm, that crossed my mind too,
Not quite close enough. Gavin has the widow's peak.

Didn't Soldier Story make a Pacific figure of him?

I saw that, but, that head is several years older and has more hair.

Rog,
I sometimes get beat up on these boards because I'm not a stickler for the exact shrunken head likeness crap for most of my figures but I think your first choice is a very good representation of Chase from the third season. If you make the figure and when you look at it is says Chase to you what difference does it make if someone else doesn't think it s dead on. Especiallly if you dig out your Subway JB head and do a dio with Jack and Chase from Day 3. They will both be close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades.

Thanks Mike,
That's a good way of looking at it. If the paint on Gavin isn't quite up to scratch in hand then that could be taken care of.
Yeah, he could well be the one...

PS (I do find it a little amusing that Kiefer Sutherland likes to pick co-stars that aren't taller than he is. Tony is the same height, as is Chase!)

Re: Chase Edmunds from 24, kitting out the figure?
Ok,
I decided to go for the Gavin sculpt for the head. His jacket looks pretty unique:
This is what I went with:
That's off the Brother Productions Miller figure (Tom Cruise). Close enough really. The other choice was Dutch's jacket, but, as that was tailored for Arnie and I'm using the Subway Jack as a base it would probably swamp him! The Miller jacket looks closer in colour in other pics I've seen:
Is there anything else I should look out for or do I have it covered!?

Re: Chase Edmunds from 24, kitting out the figure?
Rog,
I just had another thought. I have two a day so this is it. Any deficiencies in Gavin's resemblanace to Chase will be negated by the fact that you are going to display him next to Tony and Jack and the Prez. Any 24 fan who looks at them will see Jack Bauer, Tony Almeida and David Palmer and then say "Oh, that's Chase next to them, isn't it?"It's all about context. I can't wait to see the finished quartet. I am just worried that you are only on day 3. You are going to have quite a collection by the time you get to day 8.

Re: Chase Edmunds from 24, kitting out the figure?
Nahh,
I think I'll be done after Chase. Once I've finished my Craig Bond and Indy that'll be me done with paying for 1/6th. I keep raiding my savings to finance parts and they're beginning to really show signs of depletion now. I just can't keep doing that!
My other hobby, 3D art, is much less expensive. The other day I picked up a photo real Kirsten Dunst for around £5. Yeah, you try doing that in 1/6! I'm going to lurk in 1/6 and concentrate on my cheaper hobby till I can get that ever elusive job.

Re: Chase Edmunds from 24, kitting out the figure?
What do you reckon to this as a head for Chase!?:
Interesting, it didn't hit me at first, but it's really grown on me. The other thing is that I have it in hand, HT repainted it blonde as the sculpt for the original Slim.
Ok, it's not dead on, but, neither was Gavin and I think it looks closer than others do.

Re: Chase Edmunds from 24, kitting out the figure?
That HT British Army HS looks better (needs some hair mod...) than Gavin which has no likeness to Chase except for the widow's peak.
I recall reading at another thread that the Gavin head looked a lot like Mr. Schue, the teacher from Glee.

Re: Chase Edmunds from 24, kitting out the figure?
I chopped off the sideburns on mine, I had to darken the hair as well as it is blonde on the Slim. The Slim neck emphasises the jawline which is another feature on Chase himself.
From the right angles and posed next to Jack you really know who it's supposed to be. Hopefully the rest of the gear will be here this time next week and you will see the finished article.
I read that post about Gavin too and I agree about the Glee thing. I think they were trying for Jake Gyllenhall.
CHEERS!
PS: (The Slim neck does give him a bit of giraffe neck, but, without it he'd be way too short!)

Whee, I'm cooking with gas now!
I managed to track down the exact S&W pistol he uses:
Yay! Yeah, I know, it's Marketoys, but, if they've got what you need....
