I love how you seamlessly integrate the figures with the natural surroundings and your painted backgrounds. Very well done.

Re: Red Onslaught, dio.
Awsome dio! very dynamic there is a realistic sense of motion that is difficult to achieve. Just out of curiosity how did you get the figures into such realistic action poses without the use of obvious stands.

Thanks for your comments guys,
joebob1, I use concealed wires to keep my figures in possition,it also helps to tape up their knees with a flexible fabric tape.
Cheers,
Peter.

Re: Red Onslaught, behind the scene.
Wonderful as always. The sense of rushing forward is so powerful, and I think it's psychologically increased because you decided that we wouldn't actually see any of the soldiers' faces dead on. In your pictures not only are the body poses always believable on body language etc, but the viewer always knows exactly where these guys were 15 seconds before, and where they're going to be 10 seconds after.
And I think in this picture set, the POV and the positioning of the soldiers forces the viewer to become one of them, running slightly behind, which is engaging. You've got a great eye for composition but never overdo it, so nothing looks too staged, and some feeling of chaos is preserved.
My one possible reservation wasn't the shiny boots, but if the camo on the cannon looks a bit bright. I'm sure it's historically accurate (or all the guys around here who know far more than me wd have called on it) but to my eye it's a little jarring. For me at least that's one reason the antiqued pictures carry a stronger sense of "threat." Maybe that camo colour pattern is something that just impacts differently scaled to 1/6 from real life. Just a minor observation, because the overall pics are absolutely terrific. And Romedome and itchybitz are right, we absolutely love the long view shot. You're making one-frame movies that deserve "Making Of" pics and also, the Director's Commentary.

Amazing work for a great subject, Peter! And I thought that the photo was real too. I should get to work making dioramas! They'll not be as great as this but still...
