Re: More "NAM" Guys
NICE!!!! The attention to detail and weather on these is simply stunning. Nice touch with the jump wings on the boonie hats. I was was thinking about doing something similar on one of my Nam Seals (but with the trident). Please tell me you will be entering these into Casual Collector's "Charlie in the Wire" contest!

Absolutely wicked pics and figures. Are you able to edit the post and put each pic on a new line as at the moment it's causing the screen to be miles wide!

Very nice job indeed,
It seems Tony Barton's heads are equally as popular as Nam is.

Re: More "NAM" Guys
Incredible work on the Force Recon and USMC adviser!
The only criticisms I can think to offer are that it is unlikely that anyone in 'Nam would be carrying so many 30-round mags (SF had enough trouble as it was getting them).
EDIT: Also, why would a Force Recon guy be wearing STABO...? I thought that was only Army SF (including SOG)?

Re: More "NAM" Guys
Just to clarify, the fig at the bottom of my post is a Sgt.2e BEP; Ba Vi Dec. 1951. During the 1st Vietnam war many of the French troops wore surplus from WW 2. The fig in question has British and USMC gear. Just for some drama I depicted this trooper as former German SS. If you look closely you will notice that he has various German equipment parts as well as a Iron Cross ribbon.
As for the pic sizing issue. I understand that my post may be causing some of you viewing trouble. I'll give it a go and see what I can do about that, perhaps some editing, wish me luck.

Re: More "NAM" Guys
Fantastic weathering and really nice details, like the tape shot off the muzzle in the first fig - I will have to "borrow" that idea!! Also really like your RTO - he has that PRC25 very well hidden!
Bravo!!

Re: More "NAM" Guys
Awesome bashes.
IIRC, you did some great WWII U.S. Airborne bashes a loooong while back. If that was you, It'd be great to see them again.
As for the STABO use by USMC recon, I have read that they at least evaluated them but did not like them. They used the SPIE rig late war (post '69 I'd say).
Welcome back.

Re: More "NAM" Guys
Hi Guys:
Thanks for all the positive comments, much appreciated.
I'll try to answer the few questions put forward by various members.
- Casual Collector
. 30 round mags were used by Marine Force Recon as often as possible. They were prevalent during the early 70's. However, I did see them used earlier along with the Car15.
. The Force Recon fig does not have a STABO system however, the Zero-One MACVSOG guy does.
- heliGuy Today (Kenn)
. You are correct, most of the gear is from TS.
- Longhorn 92
. Ya that was me. Most of the AB stuff has been sold to other collectors. I do have a few remaining both WW2 AB and USMC. I'll post a few pics in the next few days or so.
If you guys have any other questions please feel free to ask.
Regards,
Don Winar
