Re: BBi - Back in the Game With A Seal Team 6 DEVGRU?
The figure that you are showing in the pic is old, because I think he came out between 2003-2005 so I know he is old, but for them coming back to the game I have know clue
If they are or not but it would be nice to see the figs again.

That looks like their previous release "Trident" unless they are using it as a stock photo.

$159.99 is a little high of an asking price for a BBI quality figure.
Heck, it's a high asking price for any figure!

According to the "All knowing god" Wikipedia,ST6 origins began in the early '80s.

Re: BBi - Back in the Game With A Seal Team 6 DEVGRU?
For $159.99 he should have a better body, better sculpt and/or paint apps, multiple pairs of hands, cloth boots, no molded pouches, and some new weapons. I'd prefer an updated camo pattern also (or PCU maybe). In other words - I doubt he's going to come close to being worth that price tag. He was released in 2004, so unless they do some major updating... the 8 year difference is going to show.

Thank Hot Toys, everyone is thinking if "Hot Toys can charge these ridiculous prices and these stupid mother ------- buy them why can't we?"
It's like being on the street with several car dealerships and you own one too, they are selling their cars for twenty thousand and you are selling your for ten thousand. You notice everyone is still buying their cars, so you raise your car price to match theirs. I am not calling anyone stupid, but I wouldn't be surprise these toy companies don't.

Re: BBi - Back in the Game With A Seal Team 6 DEVGRU?
I'm interested to see what BBI's come up with.
Hopefully it's an interesting new figure of excellent quality, with some gear not currently offered by any other manufacturer. They put out some brilliant figures for a while...
I've got a feeling $160 is not the actual price, as the website is still under construction.

Re: BBi - Back in the Game With A Seal Team 6 DEVGRU?
This is exciting news, bbi figs like raider are still some of my favourites, if they keep the attention to detail they had with the newer techniques some of the current frontrunners are using, these could be great figures, but if it is going to be 160 it better be coming with a total buttload of accessories

Re: BBi - Back in the Game With A Seal Team 6 DEVGRU?
It's pretty clear that $160 is insane for an outdated product, but what I don't understand is why nobody is at least a bit glad for the return of one of the most glorious 1/6 maker ever. Even with the "existence" of high-quality-highly detailed products from other current companies, latest 1/6 BBI products can proudly stand up, side by side, with them. Not only that, as an Military International figures fan, BBI has had one of the best selections of all, if not the best one.
If we "widely" praised 21c, ( don't get me wrong 21c's fans) why wouldn't do the same with a mid-priced-better quality company??? ( although it seems this fig is an exception)
Again, I'm not gonna pay that summ of money for that kind of fig, but one thing is for sure, if they effectivelly return to the business, I'd be more than happy, waiting keenly for the availability of their loose/spare parts....

Re: BBi - Back in the Game With A Seal Team 6 DEVGRU?
This is possibly just BBi releasing old stock as they did with the RAF pilot a few years back.Or just some retailer jumping on the ST6 bandwagon to make a buck.I highly doubt BBI is producing figures again..Im sure there would be some "New product" thread from Zipcoolo if there was.

Re: BBi - Back in the Game With A Seal Team 6 DEVGRU?
Don't get me wrong... I'd be happy if BBI was back into 1/6, but I'm not going to throw praise based on pics of an 8 year old figure. I was thrilled when I was able to pick up some old stock 21C Mad Bomber figures... they were also $20... not $120.
The 1/18 Blackhawk listed on that page is a new BBI product. They released one long ago I think (maybe the Pavehawk version), but on their Facebook page, they've been previewing pics of that Blackhawk in progress for a while. It's considerably more expensive than their older 1/18 releases, so that 1/6 figure is probably accurately priced.
They have no pics of the 1/6 figure in progress on their Facebook page, but in February they did post:
"Hi bbi Fans,
A new product list of Elite Fore 1/6, 1/18 and 1/132 for 2012-2013 has been made, there will be some new tooling investment for these product lines development."

That quality at that price...?
I agree that it's awesome BBI is back in the game (third look at 21C? Only in my dreams ). I just hope their final product's price reflects it's quality, not a hope by the company.

Is this store really BBI's!?
I'd be very cautious if I were you. This coming in off the back of that 'Hot Toys' online store scam makes me a bit suspicious.
I'd ask the Facebook BBI for some confirmation before dropping cent one their way.

Re: BBi - Back in the Game With A Seal Team 6 DEVGRU?
BBI is coming back into the toy industry a bit though 1:6 is still a question. They've recently released a retooled 1:18 Blackhawk in an MH60 configuration (nightstalker). (It's nice, FLIR, Weather Radar and door gunner windows opened up w/2 miniguns and two figures) They are over three times the price of the last Blackhawks they sold through TRU & Target three years ago. They are also doing a new production run of the 1:18 F18C.
I'll ask some questions about 1:6. Trident was an AWESOME figure but NOT for $160.

I don't think your analogy is appropriate. if you have a KIA dealership, you can hardly take fault for the Bentley dealership down the street charging a substantial multiple of your price. Apples vs. Oranges
Sadly, BBI really hit its stride when I took a break from 1/6 for ten years and missed out on most of its releases. While the quality may not necessarily compare to what other companies did or are doing now, I would certainly welcome its return. That said, I am dubious as to whether this is really a sign of BBI's return - it may just be some third party retailer trying to push old inventory.

The store does appear to be legit as it was linked on their Facebook page.

I wish BBI would bring back the U-2 Pilot.

Yes, I remember this--I think I was optimistic that this was for real and that BBI really was somehow still alive and going to re-release some stuff, but it seemed too good to be true, so I pretty much forgot about it.
Well, if the rumors are a reality, I sure hope that price tag isn't, because $150+ for a rehashed BBI is not going to fly with me. They were/are great figures, but no way worth that much. I'd much rather have Toys City, Soldier Story, etc...

Trident was top of the line when it first came out, but I agree with Will.... not $160 worth. I do hope the picture is in error or just a stock photo and that BBi will wow us with something worthy of that price tag.

BBI you have my attention in the title. And Heck, I'd like another Trident figure, but it better not be another Trident re-release for $160.

Hmm, be interesting to see how this one plays out. $160 is rediculous though, I'll stick with the TC and SS all day long if that price is correct.

Re: BBi - Back in the Game With A Seal Team 6 DEVGRU?
I'm pretty sure it's just a stock photo. Think about it. Bbi was a company that excelled at accuracy and detail i highly doubt they would charge $160 for a rehash. They are testing the 1/6 waters with a safe bet. A Devgru SEAL from the Osama bin laden raid. I got the same email and i am looking forward to seeing the product. Not excited about the price at all though.

Those days are long past, and I agree it's way over priced but I think BBI
did put out some of the best and well researched figures for it's time.

Re: BBi - Back in the Game With A Seal Team 6 DEVGRU?
Using the Dragon yardstick-that is, a $40 dollar figure from 8 years ago that now costs $80, I would say $120 might be a ballpark figure ($60X2)-maybe 160.00 is the result of investment in new tooling, as they say-not saying I would pay it, just trying to do the math...
