Re: [SOLDIER STORY] DEVGRU - Operation NEPTUNE'S SPEAR

Hmm... I wonder if this will be more expensive than a usual release given the double weapon. That helmet hides the goatee pretty good actually so I'm pretty excited about this release now. I've been waiting for that MK12 so a box for me it is.

This actually came out better than I thought it would. This might be a box buy for me and a loose buy on the TC version, mainly the head sculpt and the dog.

First time l have seen 2 complete rifles with a figure like this. The price may be another $15-$20 more because of that.

Looks pretty sweet! I way prefer two rifles to the dog, though I like the look of the TC plate carrier better. In the end, two dang nice figures to chose from!

Re: [SOLDIER STORY] SEAL Team VI - Operation NEPTUNE'S SPEAR

The HS looks very similar with ACE Seal 10 with helmet on. Any higher res pics on individual parts? I'd like to see the rifles, belt and the new nifty gears.

It's the year of the AOR. Now let's see whether PH will come with its own version this year too.

"rainbow six" usually posts those..but it looks like the thread he was about to open got deleted. I hope he reposts with more detailed pics. I'd like to see closeup of the all the pieces as well

Yeah, I agree. He usually has the higher res pics that I love.

I went to the Soldier Story site and they have the figure up there as well.

What the hell are the little boxes on the weapons rails right behind the broom handle grip? I have never seen those before.

Bipod legs retract and extend! That is awesome!

Molded boots are back. BOO! HISS!

Overall it looks like an awesome figure!

Jeff

Given the subject matter/mission, it makes sense that the figure is dressed in AOR1. AOR2 would be out of place and being that most pics of SEALs coming out of A'stan show AOR1 then it's the most likely candidate.

Yup agreed.

It was just a matter of time before the Neptune Spear guy showed up, but I'm glad it's Soldier Story at least.

The monster dogs look good on him--I'm liking the set overall! I really don't have as many Seals as probably you other guys, so I'm fine with the subject matter. I'll try to grab a couple of these.

Re: [SOLDIER STORY] SEAL Team VI - Operation NEPTUNE'S SPEAR

So it's definitely coming with two rifles? I hope so!
I was about to put together my own Mk.12 but I'll not bother now, I'll just mod this one slightly
As many have said in the previous thread the head sculpt is shockingly bad but while everything may not be perfect SS is miles ahead of the competition in my humble opinion.
I don't think they should have painted the HK416 rifle in AOR to be honest and the uniform looks a bit baggy again but I'll definitely be buying one.
Oh and I really don't see the problem with moulded boots as long as they are done well (which these are as were the 75th Ranger Regt boots) as many cloth boots look absolutely stupid and very unrealistic.

Yes.

IMO, both those rifles are pretty bad-A.

The head reminds me of Stone Cold Steve Austin, the pro wrassler.

I'm not familiar with the light/laser switch mounted on the bottom rail, I've never seen this pictured in 1/1 so far - does anyone have any intel?

@gunm - I agree, they sure are BA

Re: [SOLDIER STORY] SEAL Team VI - Operation NEPTUNE'S SPEAR

Awesome more SeAL's!!! They should just keep on producing these guys because their the only ones that count . OSW should change its name to OSS for One Sixth SeAL's. Never mind the guys that do the real work and hold the ground (sarcasm).

Tip of the spear, well how about the rest of the spear. How about the guy behind the guy like:

1. Maintenance Co. Lonnie - Complete with a can of Copenhagen & a circle from the can in his coveralls pocket. Exclusive comes with a John Deere or cowboy hat.

2. Field Artillery Tyrone (1960-70's) - Comes with black fist pick, and a shaving profile.

3. X-Ray Tech Jeffrey - has the cleanest, best pressed uniform you have ever seen. Headsculpt clearly shows the new found confidence Jeffrey shows now that they repealed "Don't Ask Don't Tell".

(Names & MOS' are purely coincidental. They are not focused on anyone in particular and are merely used for humor without malicious intent)

All in all,I love the work these companies are doing but its time add something new to the menu.

BTW, I'll take 2.

I agree with all except that last sentence... Are they going down the same road as DML now, but with modern US SF figures? Actually, they could take the entire market if every second release was a German WW2 figure...

Snore. Yea, the figure looks nice, but as long as they pump out the same figures, I'm keeping my money.
