Making a BSG Marine Wip (3/6 Update)
Hi all, I am making another Battlestar galatica grunt, a colonial marine. I have made the uniform ( sorry for the pics black is always a pain to photograph with my camera) and I am working on the helmet and sidearm. I hope to get started on the vest as well. Any suggestions for these parts would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip
Many BSG weapons were conventional weapons that were lightly modified. I can see you using a modified version of the Hot Toys Secret Service vest and a P90 to make a CQB operator. Link to all BSG weapons, modified and conventional: IMFDB - Battlestar Galactica
As for the patches we've discussed, I take it that I should add the Marine patch to your order?
EDIT: Better idea! Dr. Figures RX4 Storm ( GoodstufftoGo). The RX4 was the standard long-arm of Colonial Marines. It's also a pretty unique piece that I haven't seen before, so it'd be pretty interesting to use.

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip
I thought they used the CX4 and not the RX4 unless I missed something?

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip
You're right, my bad, it's the CX4, not the RX4. You could make the Dr. Figures RX4 into a CX4, but it'd require quite a bit of work. :/ Whoops.

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip
I think it is looking great. And I can't remember seeing a BSG Marine bash before. I am looking forward to seeing it progress.

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip
I think the MP7 with an Elcan on it might be the easiest and distinctly BSG gun to use. I do wish someone would make a CX4 though.

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip
Near the end they also started using G36k's. What do you plan to use for the helmet?

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip
The helmet is actually a snowboarding helmet made by Giro called the Bad Lieutenant.
I have always thought a protect helmet could be modified to work.
This website has a pretty good breakdown on the gear.

The cool thing is they wore several different uniforms over the five seasons so you could kitbash a couple of different styles.

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip
I am planning to mod a protect helmet for the helmet. I think I am going with the MP7 with an Elcan for the weapon. It looks really cool. I have started taking apart a VH vest to make an accurate vest. Reference of the vest below.

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip (1/4 Update)
Are you going to go with the FN 5.7 for his sidearm?

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip (1/4 Update)
Thanks guys
Yes I am going with FN 5.7 for his sidearm. I am not sure how well it will turn out as I have a hard time with the small details of the pistols. I am working on it now ans so far it looks pretty good.

I thought that the Snake Eyes figure from the GI Movie came with a FiveSeven. I am not sure if any of the normal 1/6 makers have made a version. I used to have one but can't find it in my parts bin.

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip (1/15 Update)
I particularly like that vest. Great job! What did you use as the base of the Five-seveN mod? A BBi Sig 226 maybe?

Re: Making a BSG Marine Wip (3/6 Update)
Swwwwww-eeet!!! That is a superb job!!! Great, great work all around! Did some 1/1 BSG costuming and we had BSG Marines patches made, turned out pretty cool.
Again, great work and love all your BSG figures! What's next???
