Very cool place!
So I see the vast majority of stuff in the store seems to be HT. Is this place like an outlet store for the company, or do they just happen to carry mostly HT?
Also, how are the prices compared to what we'd pay overseas? Are they cheaper in store? (I'm asking specifically in terms of USD.)

It's HT flagship store in Tokyo. And since this is Japan, expect to pay a lot more compared to US retail prices.

Cool shop. Reminds me of Kaiyodo's "Hobby Lobby" - a mini museum of their offerings. Looks like Toy Sapiens is in the Shibuya/Harajuku area. There are some cool shops in the area (Volks shop, Yellow Submarine etc.). A definite shopping/people watching mecca, though not necessarily for toy shopping - the place is uber trendy. Toy Sapiens looks even nicer (and bigger) than Toy Hunters. Definitely need to check out on my next Japan trip.
And HT is Sideshow's distributor in HK and Japan, and maybe other parts of Asia as well - thus the plethora of Sideshow product at Toy Hunters and Toy Sapiens. MSRP/retail prices in Japan are definitely higher than in the US, even when not factoring USD/Yen exchange rates. Many shops do sell HT stuff at a discount, though I doubt Toy Sapiens will.

I hope HT/Sideshow fixes the facial tone on the Bespin Luke before shipment. It looks like he's seen a ghost!
I am really even more excited for the Keaton Batman after seeing it on that display, can't wait!

 All I could think of looking at the pictures was... "$$$ Ching-ching."
It's funny, the Euro is on the verge of financial collapse and Europe is in shambles because of the GFC but we collectors  are still prepared to spend most of our spare cash on 1/6 figures.
(But I suppose nobody said it's a hobby for the completely sane and rational.) |
