I have the 1st release too, unopened... because i had a nagging feeling way back then that the bobble-head was too big a blunder for HT not to correct it.

Re: Hot Toys - Classic Predator
Someone at Sideshowfreaks said that the staff from Toy Hunters confirmed that this figure will not be released until Jan-Feb. When asked about the leaked pics, they refused to comment.
Speculation is that this may be an unfinished and stolen item from the factory.

Re: Hot Toys - Classic Predator
Just opened him up. Blows the original release out of the water. Headsculpt, biomask and body all a huge improvement. They've went with a lot of one piece moulds. Greaves, kneepads are moulded onto the lower legs and the thigh armour onto the upper. Wrist computer also one piece on his forearm. No removable medikit on his back either. Makes him a lot less fiddly to get him to look right but looses a bit in customization options.
Paint apps are great on the headsculpt and body but a bit plain on the armours in some areas.
Only things missing to make him a P1 are the bone trophies across his chest, necklace, pouch on his belt, joint wrap ties and a wire on the plasma caster.
Super predator skull trophy and base are pretty cool extras.

Re: Hot Toys - Classic Predator
^for Pred1 i think he also needs the bicep armor from the P1's left arm.
Anyone know if the full non-damaged bio mask from Classic will fit on the head of the original HT P1? maybe without mandibles? thanks

Re: Hot Toys - Classic Predator
Yeah there's quite a few minor and not so minor differences. Mostly the "classic" from Predators is missing a bunch of details.

Re: Hot Toys - Classic Predator
I see all the reviews sent here in OSW and I just can´t be able to convince myself to buy this new version.
Both look the same to me and, to be complete honest, still like more the first version...

Ah you are correct there with the bicep armour. Luckily I have an extra. No Idea if the biomask will fit because the new one comes with the mandibles attached to the mask so that it slots into the face perfectly. To try this out I'd have to pry off these mandibles which I'm not willing to do unless I get a hold of an extra.

Don't relay on chances. Get this one already. If ever they make a DX version in the future, you can just sell this one.

Re: Hot Toys - Classic Predator
Just got mine, finally!
When i rotate the head all the way back, the whole head (with the ball peg) easily comes off the neck cavity, and i mean with no effort.
But in normal position, you can lift this hefty figure by the head, vigorously shake it and it won't come off.
Just wondering if its the same with your figure.
'Cause HT usually does tight headjoints. Its as if they intentionally made it easy to remove... perhaps a headswap with the 1st Pred?

There doesn't seem to be any reason that predators need to have PERS eyes.
I can barely see their eyes the way they are sunken in.
I would like to see PERS on Uma Thurman in an action pose like in Kill Bill.

Re: Hot Toys - Classic Predator
I get this Pred after all. Hiper Fast shipment, took only 15 days to travel from HK to Brazil.
Then, I left it hanging in my house for a week and finally at Saturday I decid to take it out of the box and display (I never, NEVER will understand people that buy a figure and let it in closed, in the box, withou air... Don´t this people have any heart???).
Put it together with all the others predators in the top of my shelf. A few hours later, my folks come to visit, and decide to check the shelf. My dad - with the best intentions - told me the shelf need a little "adjust", and just show me what to do, pushing it.
All the predator started to rain from the sky, hitting the floor HARD, heads to one side, acessories to another.
I just watched, wihout action, finally understanding the meaning of the word "CHOCK".
Then, very slowly, started to take all the pieces from the floor.
Miracle enough, no Pred showed any sign from the huge fall. I arranged all of them again in the shelfs, not a single problem.
Then, in the middle of the night, a huge BUMP awakened me. I go directly to the display room, just to find the new classic Pred standing in the floor, handless and footless.
This time, the damage was there. The foot peg broke inside the leg. The back of his head loose a piece of paint.
Man, that really disappointed me.
I´m not the type of person that doesn´t want the figure anymore because it "loose his value" or something like that (I actually purchased the original classic Pred from one of this kind of people, he sold it to me for hundred bucks, before the announce of this new release, just because the Pred had a little risk at the head, extremely hard to notice), but knowing the figure was perfect just a few hours past was a HUGE let down for me...
Anyway, just need to talk to somebody, and all you people are well aware that NOBODY outside here would understand how I feeling this morning...

Re: Hot Toys - Classic Predator
I hope they will a redux of Predator 2's Hunter Predator and AVP 2's Wolf Predator as well. Those were very popular HT Preds too.

Ouch!
At least in the second crash there was only one Predator damaged. Will you be able to replace what was broken easily? I know Toy Anxiety and many eBay stores do part out Predators. I don't think I'd ever place anything that precious on a high shelf. My figures are all on top of a fairly low cupboard and any that do hit the floor seem to survive.
I hope you can manage to salvage things
CHEERS!

I just super-glued the foot directly in the leg, and he looks great in the shelf again...

Re: Hot Toys - Classic Predator
in my experience, Hot Toys wrist/ankle joints are very 'delicate'...
i have at least 4 broken, I know, maybe I re-pose too many times my figures, specially my Arnie T800, I know why they put 2 pairs in their figures......

Re: Hot Toys - Classic Predator
Sad to hear about the crash, i guess the figure would be much safer on the base stand and for a good night's sleep.
I like it free-standing, have to position the ankle ball pegs with the screw heads facing front, adjust the stance, feet flat on ground and it won't topple forward anymore.

I went the other way around. I used the P1 head on the newer body. The newer neck peg is smaller.

@peterparkernypd: Sorry to hear that man. Still, I appraise you for that positive attitude you have even though he was broken. Cheers! Keep that up.
