Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Thor: Odin
Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh yeeeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
The more Marvel figures HT makes, the happier I seem to be! (I think that says something to the quality of the rest of my life, but that a discussion for another therapy session.)
Can LOKI be far behind?? After all, he is the main villain in this movie-- as well as next year's AVENGERS movie!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Thor: Odin
Some of the Movie stills/video.... had this hemet...

but HT's helmet is also shown in the flashback one, where Odin still had his right eye...
So to be accurate, eye patch to be removable and a 2nd helmet ...

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Thor: Odin
The helmet appears to be the one he wears in the battle scenes, as opposed to his royal helmet in the throne room scenes.
It may appear in a flashback-- or before he loses his eye (if it happens during the course of the movie). It would be nice to have both helmets though....

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Thor: Odin
Well its doubtful HT will do another Odin so it would be nice to have both.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Thor: Odin
Hm, yeah. Clearly the figure should have both helmets. Maybe they're holding back on the second one so they can generate a second wave of excitement for the figure down the line by announcing it later?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Thor: Odin
Not bothered by this one really but I personally think that the headsculpt (minus the hair and eyepatch) is outstanding! I love the amount of detail on the skin.

That helmet looks way too much like Loki's from the comics.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS148 - Thor: Odin
Muscle body!! Nice. I hate the patch thou. Mr. Hopkins has a huge broken bottle scar on his left eye. The patch would havebeen more effective on that eye instead of the good one. Damn you Hollywood.

That's Loki's traditional helmet.

Actually other than the fact that both helmets have horns it is different than Loki's... Loki's horns are far more curved....and it is close to one of Odin's helmets...the look changes depending on the artist..

Ah, the peace and quiet of South Wales....the friendly broken bottle in the eye!
I like the helmet but not as much as the other one pictured with the wings, the chosen one reminds me more of a manga samurai style than fantasy Viking.

I like Odin more than Thor.
I may try and pick Odin up if I can find him for a good price.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS148 - Thor: Odin
thor will be a very nice collection. the colorful costumes and intricate details will stand out. i just hope that i will be able to come up with the money to purchase Odin and Loki. i figure the cost will be under $150. so that's do-a-ble for my wallet. when captain america comes out in a few weeks man, it's gonna be exciting.

I'm skeptical of Cap. I love my Marvel icons version and comics don't always translate well into real life.

Best price I found is AlterEgoComics.com. Bare in mind there is a cancellation fee if you don't follow thru on the ore-order.

Hot Toys could do a little better with the plastic molded hair. The outfit would make a great sci fi bash.

The head should have been bigger and the skin is not nicely detailed. All in all it's a great likeness of anthony Hopkins but not a perfect one.
I can't wait for the Alice figure.NEXT MONTH ???

Re: Hot Toys – MMS148 - Thor: Odin
It looks really good, but I have not had any interest in the figures that HT has produced since the last Batman. I am looking forward to Sucker Punch and Indiana Jones, however. I really hope that we get more Resident Evil and some X-Men. Maybe some Fight Club and more femfigs.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS148 - Thor: Odin
I highly doubt that Odin will generate enough population to keep the line going...
They should've made Loki first, that way if they decided to cancel this line we'd at least have the classic archenemy combo(Thor vs. Loki).
But now it looks like we're stuck with this insignificant father-son duo.
