The Resolute Joe Act 13: Depth Charge with a minor twist

Hey all,

I bet you guys have been tired of seeing another Joe coming from me. Afraid the series will last a little longer as I dug up a few more Joes from the storage which can be upgraded into Resolute standard. Without further adieu, here's the 13th Resolute revamp: Depth Charge. Sgt Doug Langdon is a minor character, but since version one was damaged during my last move, thought he deserved a rebirth.

I migrated all the gear and wetsuit onto TTL nude from the old crappy DID body, did some further weathering and repairs here & there. Headset's boom mike was missing during the move, I scratchbuilt the replacement with craft wire and spacer. Perhaps the two most significant changes here are his primary and a new head. The UMP was from an old project. Repaired, added new lens for the optic. Suppressor was a reworked 1/144 EX- S Gundam beam saber hilt; added microscrew to the rear end so that the setup can be switched between regular non-suppressed and suppressed versions. Head is a repainted DML Ranger "Larry". Striped and retouched with pastel. Depth Charge's overall proportion looks a heck more better & natural after the migration IMHO. Older version looks stiff in comparison.

Not too many shots this time, but enjoy them anyway.

Ref (I'll rework Bombstrike into the lineup as well.)

The hardware....UMP tactical

Wetsuit pattern. Since most of it was covered by the diving gear. Thought I posted a wip shot to show you what it looks like underneath. Tried as much as possible to follow the 3/75" version, but of course there is always some discrepancies here & there. Can't help......

To recap, here's the old version

I can't remember the original Depth Charge or Bombstrike that you did. It had to be back when I was deployed overseas. Well done yet again

Re: The Resolute Joe Act 13: Depth Charge with a minor twist

Thanks fellas!! Got about 3 more Joes before I really wrap up the series, then follow by a couple secret characters. As for the wetsuit, I'm surprised how well the paint work holds up all these years. Even though there are some tiny chips here & there, that's normal wear & tear anyway.

Pete...yeah they were done while you were on deployment.

Ian....gotta to be admit some of the inspiration indeed came from the MGS franchise.

Chris.....there will be some cobras in the lineup no worries.

Blackrazor....thanks for the input man, will see what can I do from the parts bin.

Re: The Resolute Joe Act 13: Depth Charge with a minor twist

Don't ever stop. Period. I love your Joe's and think it's great that you covered some of the newer characters from the newer generation. How about Dart and Red Spot? Lord knows you'd make'em sick as hell.
So, what type of paint did you use for the wet suit? Straight modelers acrylic? It seems to have came out quite well.

Re: The Resolute Joe Act 13: Depth Charge with a minor twist

Cheers fellas!!

Rob...LOL totally. Only wish Joe universe has more UDT/ combat divers.

Joe....it won't really stop. Just that slowing down and spin into a different Joe series. Dart & Red spot?? I don't know man, we'll see. Sonny Landham aka Billy Sole would make a great Dart. As for the colors, straight up inexpensive dollar shop acrylics; than sealed with a couple coatings of Kryon matte clear. Holding up pretty well consider I posed him from time to time.

Terry, Mr.Moose, Gerald......thanks gents. Yep a few more on the drawing board. Hopefully I can roll them out, creative drive permitted.

Niels.....I used a couple color pastels for the base tone, basic flash tone & another flash tone that is more tan than the basic. The steps is similar to how fellow member Kmok15 applied face camo's base tone in his tutorial. Once the base is dried and sealed, I then applied reddish brown as highlights.
