Splinter Cell Black Ops Diver: 'The EEL'
This is the guy in my avatar! (with different HS)
I started this figure around 18 months ago! Influenced by the first two Splinter Cell video games but not wanting to recreate Sam Fisher, I decided to create my own Black Ops Agent:
Eli Moray - Codename: The EEL
According to records, Eli Moray excelled in Martial Arts as a child, received Degrees in both Art and Sciences and went on to distinguish himself in the UKSF Special Boat Service only to be tragically lost at sea in a random accident.
Officially, Eli Moray no longer exists...
Now, working for an unnamed Government Agency as an Elite Covert Field Operative, Eli Moray - Codename: The EEL is the unsung hero of modern Counter-Terrorism.
In most Video Games, the Player Character usually ends up with far more weapons and gear than a person could actually carry. But I wanted my character (like Sam Fisher) to have a well-thought out inventory and genuinely be able to carry ALL his gear.
So, brace yourselves! Here is the loadout. (Virtually all parts are Hot Toys which I have weathered and tweaked to fit) :
For the long swim to safety, The Eel has a tactical Wetsuit, modified Secumar life vest and Draeger LAR-V closed-circuit Rebreather (modified back-mount for better ergonomics and easier exhalation).
Rappelling Belt and Carabiners
For navigation, he carries a TAC-200A Navigation Board (more compact than the TAC-100) with custom digital Depth Gauge and Dive Chronometer.
His Multi-Purpose large rear pouch contains dive shoes (and on exit, his Newline Miniatures Boots). Hanging unobtrusively below are Force-Fin "Float Tube" Swimfins.
Custom made ‘bucket’ Holster (accommodates Pistol with attachments) and Bomb disposal Tools (My little nod to DeNiro’s Archibald 'Harry' Tuttle from the 1985 film Brazil).
This had better be the right wire to cut!
Scratch-built Optical Cable attachment (to see under doors) connected to the OPSAT PDA
Rule Number One: Do not kill civilians! (car in background)
Lightweight Night and Thermal vision binocular Headset (impossible, I know!)
Fire Fly Infrared Strobe Torch (For NV and emergency pick-up)
Backup Mini VIP Infrared Strobe Light (NOT a compass)
Chest Harness:
His Right:
Small Pouch: Lock Pick and disposable Picks
Large Pouches (L to R): 2 x Gas grenades/4 x Ring Airfoil Projectiles/H&K 30 round STANAG magazine/2 x Distraction cameras (grenade)
Centre: 2 x CTS 9440 Rubber Ball Grenade/2 x 12 round .45 ACP magazine
His Left:
2 x M61 Frag Grenade
Large Pouches (L to R): 2 x Sticky Cameras (grenade)/ H&K 30 round STANAG magazine/2 x Wall Mines/Optical Cable
Drop pouch:
(L to R): 2 x Sticky Shockers (grenade)/H&K 30 round STANAG magazine/Medical Kit/12 round .45 ACP magazine
Rappelling Gloves
Multi-purpose rubber hose
Hallucinogenic Gas Canister – would be great in a Video game as it could have unpredictable but often hilarious results!
Hydration pouch with Chemical Flare
2 x Flash Bang Distraction Device
Flex-cuff restraint cable
Primary Weapon: Special Forces Combat Assault Rifle FNH SCAR-L Mk 16 Mod 0
With Custom Silencer/Sights/Aiming Module
Custom Quick-release sling
Total 120 Rounds 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge
Enhanced Grenade Launcher Module FN40GL
Perfect for a Sticky Shocker!
Secondary Weapon: SOCOM Pistol H&K Mk 23 mod 0
With Silencer/Laser aiming device/Torch
Total 60 Rounds .45 ACP cartridges
For listening and recording conversations: Laser Microphone TAK (Tactical Audio Kit)
Aquacom Transceiver and compact Headset (comms)
Swift, Silent and Deadly: Titanium Dive Knife with tactical neoprene ankle sheath
Phew! Well done to anyone who read all that!
Thanks for looking!

Man, that's good.
It's really not easy to make that UDT gear look good and tidy, you've done an amazing job adapting it all to this character. My hat goes off to you sir

Very nice! This guy is loaded...love the detailing you've done.
Couple of questions:
What sculpt is that? HT Group of Operations "James Dean" lookalike guy?
Where did you get the Bagua sticker? (might be handy for making Dharma Initiative logos)

Thank you! That's so true about the UDT gear! There are a lot of hidden wires pulling all the harness and gear tight - it was a nightmare to get right!!

Thanks! The re-breather on the back frees up so much bulk at the front.

Yes. Spot on! Hot Toys CIA GOI in Iraq. I added shading, stubble and a little beard.
The Bagua sticker I made myself. Just print out small versions of this ( er, thanks to whoever owns this image):
Cheers!

Thanks! I wish I could have thought up some interesting gameplay elements, but it's basically my homage to the Splinter Cell game - Although Eli Moray does have Hallucinogenic Gas! - which could be fun in a video game!

Thank you very much! The gear set up took many hours of thought and research. But interesting and fun hours, nevertheless!

Cheers! I reckon he would be able to swim. All his gear is reasonably waterproof and he just needs to flap his fins and hold a navigation board. I think the main problem is carrying all that weight on dry land!

Thank you! Rebreathers can be worn on the front or back depending on the model, each way with advantages and disadvantages. You're right, the Draeger LAR-V rebreather is designed to be front-mounted, but I don't think it would be too difficult to modify it to be worn on the back.

Thanks very much! I'm happy to share - although, ironically, it's taken me 18 months to finally finish and share this figure!

Wow, this is the most comprehensive original espionage character I've seen kitbashed! I love the ergonomic placement of gear all around his suit! It makes the video game gear capabilities more realistic! Thanks for sharing this, bro!
