Hmmm, guess he's suppose to be in the 327th Glider Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division during Bastogne

THe helmet needs decals. To be honest the entire set needs weathering... Dusted white snow on the cloth. Frost effect on the metal components.

The head sculpt looks like modified version of the FCS TF version minus the goatie.

Re: [Soldier Story] Bastogne 1944 U.S. 101st Airborne Division
I like it, but a bit too 'neat and tidy' for me. I've read that most of the 101st that went to Bastone were very limited on supplies, and even warm winter wear. Most had to supplement their gear using whatever they could find. Great figure as a 'head-start' to bash-up though...

Should have been a Jeep hat unless they made one already. If not it's a blown opportunity.

Re: [Soldier Story] Bastogne 1944 U.S. 101st Airborne Division
Good for gear, nice to have more metal/wood Thompsons. But I'd rather have my hands on the wood/metal carbine they promised (and apparently failed to deliver) on the soon-to-be Falschirmjager than anything on this figure. SS does a good job with coats, though, and parts guys can eat those up, as well as the detailed Handie Talkie.

looks good, although I prefer the DML greatcoat this looks like a good boxed figure, boots have a better shape than DID's

I think it looks pretty awesome meself. I intend to buy the Jack McNiece fig first, but this looks great. I think the great coat looks like the best one made yet personally, AND that Thompson looks SIIIIICCKK!!

Thanks Rainbow!
Can't wait to see the weapons closeups and M-1943 uniform details. The two-buckle boots look to be outstanding!! M-1928 Haversack = 327th GIR?

I can't pass up on new SS HS, though I don't think I will buy the complete figure. The M1 looks great too, might have to pick it up lose.

This looks brilliant!
Would like to see what other goodies it comes with underneath the coat.

The sculpt kind of kills this one, for me. Way too tan for a Bastogne troop.

Re: [Soldier Story] Bastogne 1944 U.S. 101st Airborne Division
Oh Lordie. I just commented today about purchasing the DID one and now SS does this to me. Counting this one I'm going to have five box sets on pre-order. Hello overtime.

I like the look of the coat, and the boots look very nice indeed. Going to need to see more shots of the figure, and what's hidden under the coat before I can make any kind of decision, though.
