It's actually quite underwhelming I'll probably get the headsculpt and that pipe. But there are so many uniforms like this already on the market...

Doesn't look like Chris Waltz. In fcat it looks like a DML scuplt.

Hm. Nothing noticeably special there. I would like a better shot of the HS, though.
But what's with the hi-vis pipe?

They need to fix the head sculpt and they should do a dress uniform version of him as well.

Yeah, I'm not seeing the likeness either. Granted, that pic kinda sucks, teaser or not, lol.

Thanks for those, Centrocal.
Nope, it still doesn't look like him, but he does make a pretty good, generic Nasty Nazi. I'm not sure I'd spend the inevitable sort of money on a generic Nasty Nazi, though.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Inglourious Basterds: Col. Hans Landa (Teaser)
I would need to see some better shots of the sculpt before deciding it doesn't look like him. Now that they're releasing him I'm way more tempted to pick up Aldo...

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Inglourious Basterds: Col. Hans Landa (Teaser)
The spy photos are soft and don't do anything to make the resemblance clearer.
It does make the Aldo Raine HS look remarkable in terms of likeness, though.
Still, you can see the quality in the uniform. I dunno, I'm going to pass on this one...but it does make me want Aldo all of a sudden.

Seen this already. Too late to get my money.
I wonder if they'll make his briefcase blue, like they did Aldo's water bottle?

I have to stick up for the Also headsculpt. While it's not the expression I would've chosen, it is an excellent likeness

It kinda looks like Leo DiCaprio, the role was intended for him in the first place.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Inglourious Basterds: Col. Hans Landa (Teaser)
The face looks expressionless to me. The actor had much more of a ruthless whimsy in the film, this head sculpt doesn't capture that. Otherwise it's an excellent figure.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Inglourious Basterds: Col. Hans Landa (Teaser)
"Ruthless whimsy"...interesting way to put it!
The character is certainly cruel. But that cold-bloodedness is tempered by an intellect that's both demeaning/condescending and charming at the same time. He's almost like a sociopathic Sherlock Holmes, a WWII CSI that might well be behind the crime as much as the one solving it.
A very complex character to be sure.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Inglourious Basterds: Col. Hans Landa (Teaser)
I am excited about this figure. I had not seen the movie until just the other night and now I am eager to have this and the Aldo Raine. Some of the other guys would be easy enough to make as well as there is enough German gear out there. I am sure the HS will look better on the production figure. Seems like a lot of this may have been rushed to show off all at once. That is a lot of new figures to show at one time.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Inglourious Basterds: Col. Hans Landa (Teaser)
I agree, it may be because it was rushed for the exhibit. The DML Landa has a better likeness.

Hot Toys did say on their Facebook that the prototypes shown at the show are still a WIP.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Inglourious Basterds: Col. Hans Landa (Teaser)
I like very much the figure, but it doesn't resemble the actor in any way, it's like a good cosplayer playing the character, or a custom made figure...the face it's not nearly the same.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Inglourious Basterds: Col. Hans Landa (Teaser)
lol guys forget about the Cyber-hobby Hans. I'm from China and one of my friends ordered a Hans from Cyber-hobby, Hong Kong. What he discovered is that the Cyber-hobby Hans somehow had a very bad quality-- the colour praintings on its bodywould fade away even with a sligtest touch. And also, the SS colonel Collar Insignia looked so fake. "Even a paper print would look better than the Cyber-hobby Collar Insignia", said my friend.
My English sucks but I hope I've made my point-- the Cyber-hobby Hans sucks even more than my English does : )
Well, I agree that the HT Landa shown above did not show much likeness, but I expect it to have better a bette quality~~

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Inglourious Basterds: Col. Hans Landa (Teaser)
Not impressed. I wouldn't pull my wallet out for this one as is. If they fix that sculpt, maybe.
Or any of the others for that matter. HT Raine looks great but they missed that expression and chin jutting out, so that was a loss as much as it is a great figure. It's all about the personality of the sculpt for this movie, and both Dragon and HT are failing to capture that.
