Monkey Depot Photo Review: Soldier Story Jake McNiece Filthy 13 Paratrooper
Hey gang,
I am really excited about this figure. The Filthy 13 are legends and to have one based on the real guy with his help in development is super cool. Soldier Story loaded him with gear.
I mention this in the review, but McNiece claims his weapon of choice was the M1 Garand. The famous photos of him with the Thompson were just because he said he grabbed a Thompson when the Stars and Stripes photographer was taking pics.

Great review as usual!
One question though - they obviously did alot of research on this one and got heaps of detail on the gear.
So how did they manage to mess up the gas mask bag? It looks like a cloth M6 bag but the straps are configured like the black rubber M7 bag which is what he should have strapped to his leg instead.

I don't mind the warpaint as much as the smile. I don't know if that was his character or not (always smiling). I just wish it was a more neutral look. I would probably buy it otherwise.

nice figure detail, i have the BBi 101st exclusive (gears are nice) but the hs is not much detailed, do soldier story heads fit to bbi body??? He's is smiling though " There's no jump tonight" ????  LOL

they actually did a lot of review with the man himself JACK MCNIECE. they actually told him which of the items they wore and took he said it was the cloth and not rubber one but the cloth m6 bag so by that being said he carefully looked at all the product himself and told them this is what i took there and they reproduced it in 1/6 SCALE so dont knoww who is wrong or right but i will stick to JACK MCNIECE advice since he was there and you were not  thanx any replies please send them to CAL T  |

Wow! This is like a freakin museum piece! At practically 1/10 the price. I'd love to get one but I can't afford more then one "period" of figures.

Great photos and info! This will be my only non-modern military fig for the foreseeable future...unless SS makes another equally impressive one I guess!  |

Great figure, but I just don't like the expression. I'm not incredibly fond of the warpaint either, but the grin is the dealbreaker for me.
