Well here he is at last guys, in all his leering 1/6th glory.
Only one head (as I thought there would be) but at least we get a stogie as well!

Hot Toys is proud to bring you the second character from the Watchmen movie – The Comedian.

This Comedian collectible figure stands approximately 30cm tall and features Hot Toys’ muscled body with over 21 points of articulation. Dressed in his movie-accurate and intricately detailed costume of full body armor including patriotic shoulder pads, knee pads and boots etc.

This superhero collectible also features :

l Tactical full body harness with holsters
l Boot knife with a knife holder

Just found out that the smiley is indeed protected under copyright so WB couldn't let HT use it, and I've been told it's a rubber muscle bod.

I'm not a big fan of rubber bodies but there's no denying that is a damn fine piece of craftsmanship. It's pretty amazing how far this hobby has come in the quality of factory products. When I was a kid, or hell when I was in college (I'm 28), the only place you could see scale recreations like this was a museum.

I hear that, I've been what I would consider a serious collectot for about 15 years, and in that time the changes have been incredible. I still remember being knocked out by the quality of my Hasbro Han on his Taun-Taun... how things change!

Looks great!
Seems weird how HT's can use the likeness of the character, the name of the character, the Wacthmen name and logo but not the smiley face...........very strange

My personal favorite charecter of the movie, I think HT did a great job on this guy!
Couldnt you just take a sharpie to the yellow pin and make your own face? I dont think itd be that hard, if I ever get this guy Id give it a try

EDIT: If I dont manage to get the whole figure I definatly want the shot gun (Its the one Kevin Dillons charecter used in Platoon) and M79

For the price I would have expected the smiley to be on it, can't believe it never came with the license! I know it is only small but it is iconic.

Still the figure looks awesome! Just me being picky!

That sculpt really sums up the comedian to me! Very sinister!

On the subject of the smiley face I have seen it pointed out somewhere that the smiley face logo is actually still in copyright and the owners won't let it be used in association with merch or marketing for Watchmen which is why the smiley face isn't on the TPB cover or any of the DVD covers.

Yeah doesn't mean it was legal.

A second head would have been nice I must admit. Perhaps a young unscarred 'Nam era head without the mask and a different facial expression.

Agreed on the .45's. They look horrible! Kinda half assed if you ask me. As for the happy face button, maybe they'll skim around it and put a sticker over the actual happy face, like they did the Blackwater logo on the PMC.

For future releases... I really hope Dr. Manhattan has some underpants on... no need to have 1/6th blue glowing "cash and prizes" hangin around...

Yeah, I said in the other thread that the owners of the smiley face copyright (not the Watchmen smiley, but the classic 70s smiley) are lawsuit happy. They even managed to stop Walmart from using the smiley face a few years back, so they've been pretty successful. I had a comic shop that sold Watchmen tees with the smiley face and the t-shirt company got a cease and desist a couple months after the movie came out.

I still have an old Smiley badge with the blood graphic on it somewhere, mind you I still remember the exact moment I bought it, 1987, Comic Showcase when it was still down Neal Street in Covent Garden, it came free with my first edition of the collected comics which I also still have, sweet!
I can't believe that was 22 years ago!
