Delta Force figure assembly questions?
I got my first Soldier Story figure, the Delta Force.
Now I need info on how to attach the accessories---how to attach the pouches (with the 2-4 straps on the back), etc., etc. onto the equipment vest.
I'm pretty sure I'll be asking more questions since there's a lot of accessories that come with the Delta Force figure.

Re: Delta Force figure assembly questions?
1 clear your schedule for the night, maybe two nights.
2 get some good tweezers
3 turn on something good on tv or a show you don't mind seeing every episode again on Hulu
4 thread the 1/6 version of PALS webbing into the vest's webbing. You can weave it in and out if you want.
A final weaving back through the pouch's own webbing should help to secure it from flopping around.
5 repeat.
Have fun~ I have to do this myself when I can't ignore it any longer. :P

Thanks, but you lost me. Could you clarify your instructions on how to attach the pouches to the equipment vest?

Re: Delta Force figure assembly questions?
Try this:
http://www.airsoftohio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6967
Basically you weave the strips that hang off the pouches into the vest, then back through the loops on the pouch, then back through the loops on the vest, and finally down again through the pouches. There is no way you can do this without tweezers, so get a good pair..preferrably needle-nose ones. A final tug with the tweezers on the little strips should tighten them up against the vest so they dont flop around.
Welcome to the world of high-detail 1/6th scale collectibles.

GUYS:
Thanks very much for the info.
Geez, that's a lot of work involved. I wish Soldier Story has used velcro instead.
As I work on attaching accessories this weekend---now a long weekend--I'll have more questions for you guys. I downloaded many photos of the SS Delta Force for reference, but attaching the accessories is another story.
Thanks again.

Re: Delta Force figure assembly questions?
Remember the old days when BBI was using plastic insert. Those were the easy days. I missed that.

Re: Delta Force figure assembly questions?
Actually, once you get good with the tweezers.....its the preferred method.
The plastic insert strips would always snap on me when I tried to feed them back through the pouches again to 'secure them'...

Re: Delta Force figure assembly questions?
Dragon - I always approach assembling a figure like building a model kit. Don't rush it - half the fun is putting it together! I'd recommend laying out how you want your figure equipped - plan on what pouches should go wear. You also don't have to follow the box pics (though I often do) - you can customize based on your own preferences. I usually take the approach of function over aesthetics - thus I imagine, as an operator, how I would want my gear set up - I'd want certain items within easy reach and on the front of the vest (ie magazine pouches, possibly grenades), and other less crucial items in the harder to reach areas. Again, usually the box pics are pretty good about this, but feel free to do it your own way. One thing - the flashbangs on the Delta CQC operator should be on his back, as they are intended to be used by the operator behind him.
As for the MOLLE straps, as HeadRusch stated, once you get good with tweezers and get used to the process, they are much better. You get a nice, tight fit and the pouches stay close and flush to the vest (which you really can't get with velcro). The straps are also much stronger than plastic strips. One other tip, if the straps are frayed, I'd recommend a little super glue (or a heated screwdriver) to slightly melt/fuse the frayed end - makes inserting through the PALS webbing much easier.
I'll spend lots of time on each figure, futzing and adjusting to make it look right - especially making the clothes and equipment hang right.

Oh hell no. SS please ignore this statement and the dreaded "V" word. . I have loads of 21st Century Stuff gathering dust in my attic. Your figures are great as they are, no need to go backward on them.

NIKONIKO:
Thanks for advice. It definitely looks like patience is required---I'll try it over a period of time.
Just a quick glance at the accessories, how does the rectangular black clip (for night vision device?) fit securely on the front of the helmet?
I'll have more questions on accessories, so as Arnold said, "I'll be back."

Re: Delta Force figure assembly questions?
GUYS:
I have a question about assemblying the M4 carbine---Does the barrel hand grip slide onto the barrel side which has the little rod sticking out of the barrel rear?
Conversely, does the rectangular scope platform slide onto the barrel side which does NOT have the little rod on the barrel's rear?
(I'm asking because the barrel slide rail on the barrel side without the rear rod is very tight and won't accept any accessory--so I'm afraid of forcing the accessories on and breaking something).

Re: Delta Force figure assembly questions?
I got no answers, so let me re-phrase my question--on the Soldier Story Delta Force figure, did anyone have trouble attaching the hand grip and scope to the the M4 carbine barrel?
If so, how did you attach them?

Re: Delta Force figure assembly questions?
Dragon, you've got to slide on both the grip and ACOG sight rather than just placing them directly on to the position of your choice.
If you've carefully pulled the M4 into pieces, slide the grip on from the rear of the railed forend (where the barrel connects to the receiver). If it's a little tight, you can lightly sand either surface with fine grade sandpaper such as 400 or 800.
The ACOG goes on in a similar way, sliding on from the ejection port end whilst the gun is seperated.
I hope this helps.

1911WILLIAMS:
Thanks for the info.
I tried to slide the scope assembly and hand grip onto the rails, but the lower rail wouldn't accept the hand grip, so I decided to ask here before I broke something.
Another question: When separating the M4 barrel from the main body, does the small rear pin sticking out of the barrel's rear supposed to be on the top or bottom?

Re: Delta Force figure assembly questions?
Dragon,
Quite often you'll find the attachments which need to be slid on are tight. It's probably the only way to keep grips, lights and lasers from constantly changing position.
As I suggested above, very fine sandpaper will make life easier.
The fine peg plugs in at the top. It's in place of the gas return tube, call it what you will, above the barrel .
