    Steampunk US Marine

There is no end in site for this steampunk virus. I just can't kick it.

Here is my Steampunk US. Marine. He is attached to the US Armored Zeppelin Group.

He is dressed for deck guard duty. Armed with his long range repeating rifle, it can also be fitted with a grappling line for boarding enemy Zeppelins. And, for close combat he has his side arm and trench knife. His goggles are to protect him from cloud burn.

    Thanks guys!

I was only going to focus on my contest entry, but I kept getting sidetracked by Steampunk ideas. I have a couple others in the works, also soldiers.

    Okay.

    HS - DiD
    Body - HT True Type
Cap, and pants - DiD Joe Coleman
Jacket, goggles and shirt - Dragon (not sure who, bought them loose)
Boots - cut down HT Rambo
Belt, shoulder holster, bandolier, and knife - All DiD, mix of figures
Pistol - Colt Navy revolver - Battlegear
Carbine - I can't remember, I've had it a while. I think I got it from Costwald, or Good Stuff.
    The rifle scabbard - Battlegear

oops... I forgot the leggings. They are from Carnot, also a DiD figure. I dyed them with coffee.

KJ, that's very cool! You got all the matching parts to make this steampunk figure. That's very unique era. I find this theme very interesting. Are we expecting to see more of these from you?

I have two more in the works, I'm sort of stuck on Steampunk right now. Most of the figures I've bought over the years have been from eras WWII and earlier. All those eras blend well for Steampunk.

Sweetness, check out them chops! You really put the parts together well, his looking to the sky pose really works well for him too.

Do you have any pics of this? I'd love to see him with a grappling hook at the end of his rifle.

As much as I like the figure, Cloud Burn is brilliant. You nailed the Victorian pseudo-science feel. Who knows what dangers one might encounter at the edge of the heavens!

Doh! I knew if I wrote that someone would ask. I didn't have a grapple and line when I took the pictures but, I have started making one.

Very cool, very original figure. That rifle scabbard is sick.

Very cool..Kinda scarry how I used the same head, pants, goggles and gaiters on my steampunk crew member. Only differance is that I used black gaiters and brown shoes..They could be twins!! Anyhow great work. I'm loving the whole steampunk bashing. Where are those gears from?
