Kitbash: Vietnam US Army Radio Operator

    Hey:

I just wanted to share some pics of the latest kitbash Allan (Dunklegelb) and I just finished. A Vietnam US Army Radio Operator.

Allan did the clothing and I did the weathering.

    Thanks.
    Eric

Thanks. Actually he is "dirty". The weathering washes out in the pics. I'd have to over-do it in order for it to show.

Looks really nicely done. Is that the Longgrear gear on him?

    Very nice (team) work.

Tatuued, the ruck frame and radio are DML, not TS (yet).

But he won't keep his mags for long if the pouches stay open !

It's the Hot Toys Prison Break "Michael Scofield" figure dressed in Vietnam gear from various manufacturers.

Longgrear is still unavailable, so I'd guess at it being the DML Jake Prick 25. Looks great Eric. The Schofield sculpt does look nice as a Nam grunt

Man I love that! Great stuff!
Did you do the mitchel pattern helmet cover yourself on the lid?

    Great job!

The helmet cover is the one that came with the Toy Soldier helmet. All I did was weather it.

Great work! Get a piece of clear plastic for the hand-set. we kept it wrapped because it tended to corrode contacts inside due to the weather and river crossings.

This is the best Vietnam RTO I've ever seen. It would look even better with some slight weathering. However, I think the figure it great just as it is. Good placement of the gear.

Thanks Vince. Any pics of what that looked like. Was is tightly or looselywrapped?

Thanks rjones. I actually did weather it. If you look closely at the boots, bandoliers, helmet and even the face, you'll see the weathering. Sadly, it doesn't show up that clearly in the pics. I may go back and add some more weathering. I just don't want to overdo it.
