HA! I knew that would work saying they wouldn't turn up, it's like lighting a smoke at a bus stop, as soon as you do one comes along. Got all the gun parts and 2 of the 3 fur samples delivered! of course I can't decide on the fur until the 3rd one arrives and the gun doesn't work.. But that's just how life goes...

The three furs I have so far, definitely leaning towards the bottom left for now, we'll see what the shaggy black looks like on Monday possibly...

Top one second pic would be good for vikings or werewolves! Bottom left for Yoda and bottom right for... mmm.. a bottom!?

I'm sure you'll find uses for all 3

Damn you must have a hairy butt!!
The top one I already used on my custom Grishnakh earlier on this thread, keeping the rest for my Loupe build from Sharpe (yes I have the hs and most things for him), the bottom left and the one I'm waiting on both have 75mm long fur which is pretty impressive looking, must come from rare 1/6 Mammoths!

Cool! You have to put fur on your model now!!!

Spent the morning fixing that magazine, it was factory assembled wrong I think and needed TLC with a complete rebuild and lots of silicone grease; firing on semi and full auto now with seriously satisfying recoil, noise and blowback!!

Done more with the cloak too, finished the pleats, added pleather and cord to attach the fittings which I've filed the brass plating off so when the paint scratches they will still be silver underneath; just waiting on the long black shaggy fur now before I trim it all to shape.

Glue stain will be covered by fur.

Which one!? I don't have one that needs it right now.

The wraith is coming along. The best airsoft gun I remember was a Vulcan cannon like the one Arnie has in T2. The one I wish I'd got, but never did, was the gun from RoboCop, love that!

Sorry thought that was your AWIL reference pic, possibly even your kit!! Couldn't remember if he had a nightmare of the wolf in the hospital, those zombie Nazis scared the crap out of me as a kid, more the false awaking scene than anything, hey I was 9 and loved making monsters out of action man etc.. and a good friend of the family knew I'd love the special effects but forgot it would scare the crap out of me too! I've still got a bit of a fear of them like my fear/fascination of/with scorpions. When I was 16 ridding home on dirt tracks (motorcycle dirt bike) drunk at 5am after working the door in a bar on a Greek island, I often imagined a werewolf was chasing me and would grab my bike by the rack on the back, I even periodically looked back! Yes I did crash a lot . I'll have a look for that Robocop gun.

No, no, my bust is of Jack when he comes to visit David in hospital, "Can I have a piece of toast!?".

Some 1/6 Nazi Demons would be so cool, I was going to bash one once, still could if I was of a mind to, maybe next year.

Maybe next year?! What kind of ambition is that? LOL. You've got to have some old 1/6 WW2 German gear lying around, if not it's cheap as chips and common as dirt on ebay etc... I think someone actually made those guys in 1/12, not a custom but a brand.

Still waiting on that fur so started playing around with parts to create the 5th Wraith, the Medieval Executioner as I call him... just fooling around to see what I come up with inspired by the reference pics.

That was SOTA toys, they only ever made one. They became what is known as Pop Culture Shock, one of those companies that promises much and delivers very little. They were supposed to do Jack and David in 1/6 and McReady from The Thing, they got as far as prototypes and nothing else.

Thanks, not really there yet obviously! That headdress is going to be a bitch, might have to sculpt it from scratch but then it'll be super fragile... we'll see what I come up with as I'll have a hunt in my giant bags of plastic scrap/junk/potential armour etc...

It surprising what you can find and what journeys it sends you off on, like finding my original Lucifer hands and realising that Subway pegs would let me put them on an HT body. I've been watching Darren Carnall paint a Clint Eastwood kit on YouTube and I remembered a garage kit I thought was long dead. Turns out it's still being produced and I should have one in the next few weeks:

I haven't seen one up close for over 20 years so it will be interesting to see how it stacks up.

Looks like a cool pose at least! Is it 1/6? You could always swap out the hs if it is. Did OSW stop working for you too earlier?
Glad I waited on the shaggy black fur (I very nearly didn't) as it's perfect! Looks very Wraith appropriate and almost has a character of it's own, definitely in keeping with that tarantula look I was going for . Done more detail stuff too, 99% there now.

I see what you needed the fur for now, looks good. That Clint is 1/6 and the head is a lot better than that pic makes it look. With a good paint job it can look really nice. If you look really closely at that pic you can see that the paint on the flesh is really thick. A friend of mine painted that kit and he made it look really good. It was sculpted by Mike Hill and his garage kits are legendary and I've owned and worked on some of his best.

That's good hear, I think that company needs a new painter then! LOL Totally drowned out the detail on the face with enamels I'm guessing.
Yeah it's that "Pathfinder" Viking look I was after and since all my Wraith so far have an insect/arachnid look to them I liked the tarantula vibe the horns (look like mandibles) and the shaggy fur is very "horror spider" like too. The Greco-Roman Wraith is very praying-mantis like, the Easterling Wraith is like big beetle, the Haradrim Wraith is very scorpion like too.
Nearly there now, I need to make a baldric or frog to mount the scabbard (I even lubed the blade with silicone grease so it won't get stuck in the scabbard or damage the paint), add more subtle fur to the edges of the cloak, make and attach/paint the axe's languettes and I think job's a good un.. Some sneaky indoor preview pics, he's got nipple rings! I had one but ripped it out in my sleep...ouch!!
Please watch the short Pathfinder video, really cool IMO!

He is really coming together now.

That pic of the Clint kit wasn't a promo, I do have a pic of the original promo version, but it's not very clear:

Found this pic of Clint, slightly better, but still not doing the kit true justice:

That looks WAY better! Like night and day.
I grew up with Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo's work, I did a foundation course in art and design specialising in illustration and then was accepted to do a degree in illustration but changed courses when I found out they had a science degree in product design, ironically I would have never even been considered for that degree if I hadn't already been accepted by the illustration degree as I didn't have any of the 'A' level subjects or scores they wanted for a science degree but luckily they took me on the strength of my portfolio!

I'm hoping I'm not looking at Clint through the tint of nostalgia, much of Mike's work during that period was ace if cast right, Janus did the best job. My niece has a degree in design as well and is soon off to Cambridge to do an MA. I think she gets her brains from her Mum's side!

I really like Boris Vallejo, I have an old calendar of his somewhere. My other fave was Chris Achilleos, particularly this female take on Captain America:

Not a Cap fan as I'm team IM all the way but get where he's going with that illustration, rodeo etc..
Have you seen a brilliant Irish fantasy artist's work called Jim Fitzpatrick? Grew up with his work too.

Spent most of today filing and shaping, then attaching and painting the metal languettes for the axe; they have some really hard gold chrome to get through! Then took loads of pics outside in between downpours for the finished thread that I've just posted here:
