I was looking through a Japanese dollar store when I stumbled onto these cell phone chairs. I thought they might work with 1/6 figures.
I got it for an equivalent of around 2 dollars, whereas I've see some 1/6 chairs on eBay ranging from 10-20 dollars.
I didn't quite like the color, and the plastic looked a bit cheap. So I decided to give it a new paint job.
After a bit of sanding to remove the rough edges, I coated it with primer to help the paint adhere better:
Then a silver coat is applied to give it a metallic sheen:
Next is the main color, I went with clear red. (Without the silver coat underneath, the red would just look flat):
After quite a few coats of red, and everything's done, I coated it with a glossy clear coat to help seal in and protect the paint from scratches and chipping, it also makes it look smooth and really shiny:
