Yeah I'm hoping it shrinks slightly too! Might wait until next week to order the moulding stuff as the bodies are still on a ship somewhere in the China Sea I imagine and there's a HMM Zoid kit I really want and can afford by the skin of my teeth. Used to travel to stay with family to do the Christmas thing but agoraphobia put a stop to that.

Agoraphobia, mmm not good. Might need help with that. I only don't leave the house much because there's nowhere I really want to go except shopping.

I'm all caught up with my overseas stuff now, I got my SHF Harley Quinn yesterday and she rocks. I'll get all that stuff from a dealer in the UK if I want anything in future.

It's just a side effect of chronic depression and acute anxiety, if I'm pissed I'm fine! Hardly ever drink anymore though.. Playing with power tools and scalpels etc...
Got Krennic today along with Jyn and a second BB8, different version from the multipack one I already have, he was only 9gbp. Started looking at bodies for Krennic but got a bit taken aback when regular 1/6 bodies seemed to be the same size! Checked out the actor's height 5'11" which is 11.8" in 1/6 so he's actually spot on! Kind of disappointed that I've got nothing to do for him.. Jyn is only 5'3" in real life so 10.5" in 1/6, needs another 0.5" on the figure and a better hs.

I quite like that Krennic, it'd be nice to have some of the officers from Empire done like that. I'd do a bit of shading on the HS, but, other than that he's fine.

The Krennic does look good. I think the pants could be better but otherwise good as is

Yeah, might find him some real leather boots too and perhaps gloves as there should be plenty of loose German WW2 stuff out there on eBay.

The helmet will definitely need to be moulded using silicone as there are even more plastic parts than I had realised.

    Thanks CT!

Just ordered a pair of these as they are super cheap and look like they will work much better with the black shirts as a base for the torso armour, the only downside is that they're coming from China..

    Could work,

I swapped my Indy onto a Kaustic Plastik KP-01 earlier. I had a spare and got curious, and now I really like him. The proportions all match well and he just screams Harrison now. He can be a bugger to stand sometimes and I've just got him perfect so I won't now move him to shoot pics. Only a discerning eye would tell anyway as, apart from the body, everything else is exactly the same.

    CHEERS!

    EDIT:

Had to swap it back again. I thought HT feet would add height, then I lost one of the KP ankle pegs! It got stuck in the foot, so I prized it out with pliers and it shot off across the room. I saw it ricochet off the wall and then it vanished into that netherworld where lost things end up, like gloves, socks, barrels off rifles...

    Ah well, these things happen!

How does Krennic's tunic and trousers fit other bodies? Being white it's not too difficult to dye.

wow, your projects are looking good! can't wait for the death trooper to be done.

BTW, did you get the BB8 loose or was there an individual release of that scale?
I was tempted to buy the droid pack just for the BB8.

Bummer, can't you just knock up another one using a bit of metal rod and a couple of airsoft BB's etc..? I'd send you one but used my last one on something recently, probably as a neck post. It'll turn up, they always do unless it went out the window!

No idea as I haven't tried but it's very tight on it's own body as it is, using a thin clone HT narrow shoulder type body should be fine.

Cheers Rovot! About the BB8's, I bought both, the set and an individually packed one from the Disney Store, they both come with different accessories, this one with a circular blade cutter and electric Taser thing with blue effects part, the one from the box set comes weathered with a claw and a spike/probe attachments. I'm filling in the holes on the weathered version and keeping the attachments to use on the clean version. I might have the weathered and clean versions backwards as they got mixed up and now I can't remember which is which! You'd better check before buying, sorry, got about five builds in front of me right now!

From looking at my pics it seems I was right and the weathered version is from the multi pack set. Just some pics of BB8's holes getting covered up, not finished.

I think it was a sign. Indy was fine as he was and I should just have left him alone. Oddly enough, the second body in those pics of Krennic next to the nudes looks to have legs that are copies of the KP-01, though I bet the pegs are different. It doesn't matter though as I'll keep Indy as is now.

Oh yeah, have you seen Michael Crawford's review of the HT Death Trooper Specialist? The helmet on that looks way too small!

That body was Saruman's original body by Asmus before I swapped it for the triad one and real cloth boots etc.. still need to do his hair extensions! Found a nice piece of white braided cord for him the other day that's actually the sewing machine's finishing tail on a while under sheet if that makes any sense? I thanked MC for the reference pics and did read he's a "pin head". We'll see what I can do later this week when I order my moulding materials as I went for that super deluxe HMM Zoid after all with a pound to spare!

You're absolutely right. The test is that I think it would be impossible to superimpose a photo or drawing of a normal proportioned body/head fitting inside. Switching to a Black Series helmet might be slightly oversized but at least doesn't offend physics. Though maybe Stormtrooper helmets have head-compression technology. Sideshow Cad Bane in disguise actually had an unmasked head that was larger than the size of his helmet.
The guidance counselor was surprised: I didnt even know career aptitude tests had a Super-Villain category.

Cool, was it a scale height for Christopher Lee?

I've got some real world purchases to make before I get into figures again. I want a Freeview Play box and a new printer. Get them out of the way and more Figuarts will be on the cards...

    I remember that now.

I do wonder if that Dracula that Star Ace are doing will be the right height. it'll look a bit silly if it isn't. I always remember that the cloak on mine trailed on the floor on the old body, but it's perfect now.

It's always a great moment when something that appears to have no coherence at all begins to take shape and turn into what you first saw in your mind's eye.

Well the good news is the bodies arrived and I ordered all the moulding supplies locally today, I'll still need to wait on the vests from China though..

Just a quick update. The moulding materials arrived today and so did the vests from China which was pretty damn fast! Shown on the actual body to be used now as Saruman is back together and giving me all kinds of grief with his hair extension mods!

More like mild panic... should have ordered more silicone mix apparently...I even had other pieces to mould lined up but could barely fill the DT's mould! I had to resort to liquid displacement and an Archimedean style solution grabbing what ever thinnish things were to hand just to get the silicone high enough to cover the top of the helmet. I was not trying to fill the whole cup, that would be daft even for me but only the top half of it as the rest is sealed off with a paint can cap and plasticine and hasn't leak so far. Not sure how this is going to turn out but did my best given the circumstances! The helmet is too big for the bottom of the cup and is also filled with plasticine on a plasticine coned base/sprue.

Re: Disney Death Trooper Upscale WIP 1/15/17 Silicone Mould Dilema..

Oops, hope it works out. It can be a pain when you run out of something you really need. I ran out of Dullcote and I suppose I used that as an excuse to stop. I will get going again soon, but, I want to get my home entertainment and a printer sorted and then we'll see. Mind you, having said that, there are more Figuarts that I want.....

Get a Cannon printer, Epson suck!! I've got Cannon 3in1 which is pretty good and affordable to buy and run.

Re: Disney Death Trooper Upscale WIP 1/15/17 Silicone Mould Dilema..

Ah, slight problem, space. There is only one printer that will go where mine currently stands and it's an HP. It's that or no dice. I'll get one in a couple of weeks. Canon are good, but I have nowhere to put a full on 3 in 1 or I would have got one ages ago. It's only the print function I'm after anyway, the rest are no use to me. The HP has those functions, but, it is the size of an old one function printer and that makes it my ideal choice.
