China, some time between the 10th and 13th centuries. They were using fire-lances in the 10th century, and they could be loosely described as guns.

    Thanks, StarrDogg.

    A fairly easy one:

    Whose gun?
Who made it and what was his other profession apart from gunsmith?
    What calibre?
Name 4 unique features about it.

don't know who made it (and don't want to google that would be too easy, I'm pretty sure someone knows), but I think I read an article about this gun as John Dillinger's automatic colt...

If I remember well it was full auto and converted to .38 caliber, about the features, extended mag, thompson handle/forearm, need help for the rest

Colt .38 Super automatic, with Cutts compensator, 22-round magazine, and vertical foregrip. Modified by San Antonio arms supplier Hyman S. Lehman (his gun shop was located at 111 South Flores Street). Lehman was also a leather worker. The weapon was made for John Dillinger. Yes I googled Mobster guns and this was one of the first that popped up.

I'd guess it was Audie Murphy, the most decorated US soldier. The film was called "To Hell and Back".

    Yes, Eugen's got it!

The caption with the photo is:

"US gunner with a training weapon, a Browning Auto-5 or Remington Model 11 set up to emulate flexible-mount .50 caliber M2 Browning. The rear sight is not visible, but note the elevated front sight, the Cutts compensator, the M2 spade grips, and the pintle-monuted chassis that the gun is set into. Shotguns and thrown targets were used to train aerial gunners on things like leading that were not relevant to the infantry – and presumably to allow the use of training ranges where bullets are high angles would not be safe. "

    Over to you sir.

I did a few searches, it is the Czech Republic army insignia, but it officially appeared in 1990 when Czeschoslovakia was separated between Czech Rep. and Slovakia... The czechoslovakian army insignia is bit different for the WW2 era, so not sure it really belongs to that unit.

Still when the country was under occupation by the 3rd Reich, most of the army was integrated to the wehrmacht. A small part joined the red army on the eastern front, and a few reached the united kingdom...
As you mention they were wearing a british uniform, my guess is it refers to that last group which became for the largest part the free czechoslovak army and was based in Leamington Spa (a czech armoured brigade was also created inside the british army, and some officers were also trained to become paratroops SOE...)

If I'm right, that was a really sharp question, but the search was very interesting and educational, thx for that travel through history! If I'm wrong, thanks anyway lol...

You are right with most moments and sign - it is Czechoslovakian cockade for a hats. But about unit: it was such way - formed battalion - brigade - corps to the end of WWII. In truth my question with key word "british" is little tricky. President of Czechoslovakia after the war, wrote that every Czech and Slovak has a duty to visit this town.
