LOTR is actually a 5 year plan for us,
we have drawn a very big picture for this series,
because our fonder/supervisor, who worked at Weta Worskshop, has a huge love for the rings, so it will be our major focus now.

Instead of replace the Sideshow old figs, we are actually more into complete the fellowship ! Perhaps replace some of the let down ones like... cough... Aragorn, but complete the fellowship will be one of our biggest quest

    This is interesting.

Two (2) companies managed to acquire the license to produce 1:6 figures based on LOTR around the same time?

Are any female characters (obvious which ones) are planned for the 1:6 treatment?

I really hope so, and I hope they do them well. Fantastic potential with this license I'm sure you'll agree!

Asmus got the license a while ago but haven't shown anything yet. The ACI announcement has evidently kicked them into action.

Different territorial licenses, it would be interesting to know what areas Asmus has the license for.

Glad to hear that there is a full plan for the series.

So which company will be able to offer/sell in the US?

    ACI?

    Asmus?

The last thing we want to see happen is the figures by either company not being made available in the US and we'll have to resort to paying more $ from overseas sellers and/or through eBay.

A connection with WETA and first figure ready to be shown in a week, I suppose it's Strider, but hope to see someone, anyone, in armour in the future! And please be in the currently accepted standard as the right scale.

I need merry and Pippin, I've got/made Loads of Dark Riders, The Witch King, Moria Orc, Lurz, White & Grey Gandalfs, Frodo, Sam, Gimli, Boromir, Legolas, Bilbo, Arwen, Galadriel, Eowyn, Strider, King Aragorn, Faramir,
I would love to have King Of The Dead, Celeborn Saruman, Theoden in armour, Eowyn in armour, Uruk Hai Beserker, Elrond, Gondorian soldier, Eomer, Grimer, Easterling warrior just to name the 1st that come to mind.
    Food for thought?

I think it was mentioned at SSF that it's the Witch King that will be revealed first, but don't quote me on that.

Seems like it, still qualifies as 'someone' in armour! It's all good.

Thumbs up Re: Asmus Toys : Lord of the Ring thread

Would be cool to see an Ork, Troll, Gollum or any other creature, not always those boring "good" guys

Side note, the actor who played Gimli was in real life the talles member of the fellowship. Dwarfs (LOTR) I would think would be around 4-5 tall, while hobbits are in the 3-3.10 range.

Re: Asmus Toys : Lord of the Ring thread

Awesome news! Congratulations! I would very much love a better Gandalf than Sideshow's (not saying that one was bad or anything, but I want a better one ) + Witchking + Sauron + Saruman... + Aragorn...

Now the big question on my mind and maybe other minds as well is: What price range can we expect? Are these going to go for $200+ or can we expect a lower range? I know you can't give us the exact price, but an approximation would be great

Re: Asmus Toys : Lord of the Ring thread

Not interested in the humans, dwarfs and hobbits. But really wanted Uruk Hai, Berserker and Moria Orc, the bad guys mainly. With their crude armor on of course
Looking forward to the first picture.
