Cool SS: How about a U.S. Army 10th Special Forces Group

That helmet is really interesting... it almost looks like he painted it with texture paint, like the kind you can buy to make things look like they are made out of stone, etc.

An updated HALO figure would be awesome..esp a 10th SFG(A) once since they did a combat HALO mission in Iraq..ODA 074 I believe. I really like that new mask system, its integrates well with combat helmets and you do not have to use a HGU-55 type.

That paint is the Krylon texture paint, a few people on the board have tried it out and its quite unique looking once dried. I have the paint and have not had a chance to try it yet.

That is super cool! Does it effect the use of the accessory rail at all?

P.S. I also really like the stripes on the front of the helmet third picture down.

I should say that I have not used the paint on a helmet of my own yet(1 diorama I have used this paint). I have bought a helmet from a member that had it on so that is where my next statement comes from.

Yes it does because it is basically adding a layer of sand/grit so it is best to go light in application or remove the rail before painting..I will try it on a TC opscore and PM you this weekend.

    VERY interesting subject.

I'm doing a whole 10th grp ODA + "terp" & camel for a team in Afghanistan right now.

Where are you getting a 1:6 camel Will? That sounds like an awesome project.

I found it on ebay. It was made in Egypt. Designed to be a child's toy wrapped in leather. I might add fur if I have time.

It is a cool project and a real honor they came to me. They said they saw some of my work I did for a friend. They shared a bunch of pics showing their loadout. I'm trying my hand at real beards.

It’s a great idea if SS would take it up.

I'll post photos when I'm done but it won't look like the really cool HALO shots Joe posted.

I'd like to see some toy company produce that mask. It's attached to a skull cap worn under the helmet.

They made a 10th SFG guy already. It was one of the first 1/6 military guys I got when I started this hobby.

Hm, might be time for me to update mine...

But we are talking specifically about a updated HALO figure with all the fancy O2 gear from the ref pics posted. 10th SFG(A) is brought up because one of their teams did a HALO combat jump in Iraq. It would be a cool figure since you could make a whole ODA outfitted in HALO gear. Here's the article on the OIF MFF mission.
