Just my opinion but I think Gandalf from SST was a really well made figure.

Gandalf was great, just need a good paint job. Many of us already have the Sideshow release. Just need to complete the Fellowship with Gimli, Merry and Pippin.
Then we'll see if the rest of the group will buried the SSC.
Personnally, hope to see Eomer in armor, but I can't wait !!

Next to Aragorn, Eomer was my favorite character. Can't wait to hear who the first figure is going to be.

I hope beyond hope for at least some of the armoured soldiers from the films, particularly the Gondorian and (Lindon?) Elf troops.

I don't disagree, but I, personally, would love an HT (or close to) quality Gandalf on my shelf.

Hate to be negative, but after seeing their Mask figure from a couple years back, my expectations are low… Looks like a $25 T-R-U retail figure.

Here are a couple links to the Mask prototype, and released product (I'm underwhelmed; costume looks cheap; HS is just really a green blob, imho):

oh.......just went and had a re-look at their Ace Ventura, Joker and Mask figures on the net.

I forgot how good they were. Potentially this is a line that will make me very very skint....however, hopefully they will come out with enough of a gap between them that would make affordability a viable option. I would love to see some good Fellowship figures, and definitely some 1:6 Orc and Uruk Hai.

Unless I missed something, I hope you meant the Riddler instead of the Joker.
The Jim Carrey headsculpt for that particular figure was amazing.
If that is any indication of potential for the Lord of the Rings line then I am all in for it.
Although I already have the Sideshow version of Gandalf,
I'm still looking to have a better representation with Ian McKellen's likeness added to my collection.

    I wouldn't count on it..."Puny orc."
