that last pic of him is not too bad, i'm still not seeing what everyone else loves about it!

why is there a wolf on the box and not a fox?

That "Desert Fox"on the box looks more like a wolf....but the figure itself looks ok.....for yet another Rommel anyway.......and for 3R, the choice of Rommel is a little odd, seeing as he was eliminated for his knowledge of the bomb plot against AH in 1944......

wow, thanks for pointing that out again!

do you actually think this looks like Rommel?

someone mentioned that there could have been a mix up with the DiD Ralf and this 3R Rommel.

Ralf seems more like a 3R release, Rommel a DiD release!

you're right, it is the best one yet but that can't be hard, the rest are S*** too!

Good lord, 3R is cranked this figure out pretty fast. I bet the next figure will probably take 6 months or more. I'm just saying.

Re: 3R-Erwin Rommel(Pic of material object)

By the end of this week i should have the boxed figure in hand so i will then be able to give a better opinion on wether or not the headsculpt is either..nothing like Rommel at all.....very very close to being Rommel.....or...... an excellent headsculpt and without any doubt...it's Rommel....the desert Wolf!,at the moment going by the 3R preview and the last photo shown in this thread....i'll stick with my middle option,Rommel's facial features have proved to have been rather difficult to get anywhere close so far by anyone but this is without doubt the closest i have seen (your right Von Luger, the rest have been very poor to say the least)....i also have the DID Ralf figure in hand and that looks nothing like this one at all... not even close...come Friday i'll let you know if my humble opinion differs.....Fox....Wolf.....who cares, it's what comes in the box that matters to me, we could have got a James Mason headsculpt and a Panda on the box!

About the wolf on the box...I was just sayin'......why they felt a need to put any picture on the box is a mystery; everyone who knows anything is aware that the Desert Fox was Rommel.....pretty much goes without saying (or showing a picture of the wrong animal ). Nice research......

I think the likeness is good enough. It's a model, not a laser scanned actor's face. I know my Rommel pretty good and when I see this, I think Rommel. Yes, Ed Harris does look a lot like him, but this isn't Ed Harris. I have him on pre-order as well, my first premium rate figure for several years. Got a gift card from work so I used it on this. The wolf is a bit of an own goal though... But putting a picture of this cute l'il thing would probably make it a bit cutesy:

Wow, this one came out quickly. The HS looks excellent, no matter what the opinion is on how close it looks to the man.

Chances are, some guy in China looked up "Desert Fox" on Google(if that's EVEN permitted in China), saw the picture of THAT cute little guy, who never-the-less is a crafty desert survivor, and thought, "Uh...he doesn't really LOOK all that fearsome", so seeing as how the Chinese are reknown for authenticity nearly as much as they are for copyright protection, they just arbitrarily decided to put a photo of a wolf on the box! That being said, THIS headsculpt is FAR better than the earlier one I have on a Dragon "Rommel" release!

There's also the Hot Toys Rommel, but I'd have to agree with you on the
Dragon's Rommel hs rendition coz I have it too.
