My other favorite was the one that looked like an actual US soldier (don't remember his name though). He can with an M-16 with Sling, LAW and Rucksack.
mikoyan, I think the figure that you're remembering may be Footloose.

Falcon was the coolest, he was a Green Beret, and had green jungle boots, and a shot gun...can't beat that.
Tunnel Rat, and Hit and Run were a few of the good ones. Oh, and Muskrat.

Beach Head. He was like John Wayne with a face mask.
Other favorites would be Falcon, Low-Light, Tunnel-Rat, Big Ben, Roadblock and Recoil.
Bad guys: Zartan, Dr.Mindbender and the BAT.

And, yes, Snake-Eyes was/is VERY coool.

...You guys had to go and remind me how wonderful these guys were--three months after I sold my collection...*sob*

    .......*

Okay, that aside. I always liked Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow, and all of the realistic looing figs really appealed to me.

But interestingly enough, the very first joe that caught my eye was none other than the first SEAL, Torpedo. And no doubt abotu it, I LIKE the RAH SEAL figures, even Tracker (corny costume, but cool character) and Wet-Down (whoever gave him his codename should be chained to a chair and forced to subsist on Barney Music Videos for the rest of his pathetic life). Heck, if not for the seelign of my collections, I would have hied up for the new Wet-Suit, Chief Torpedo, and that UDT figure (who IMHO is the best 3-3/4 SEAL 've seen, even if he's technically not a SEAL).

Looking back, I used to watch a lot of old WWII movies invovling the UDTs as a kid, and always played out beach landings. Heck, I used to be scared of swimmign till my uncle noted that Frogmen are supposed to swim--at which poitn I jumped right in and learned. Most fo he guys I think are cool in real life (Richard Marcinko), Roy Boehm) and in fiction (John Clark, Sam Fisher) are also SEALs...

And now, as I've got BBI figs, almost all of them are Navy SEALs. Coincidence?

Sgt Jamie: Hammerhead's right, it's the Cy Girls weapon that came with Nikki.

JordansDad: That's right! If there's any opening, I go for it! Now if someone would just mention the 3 magic letters: S. D. U.!

Firefly was the one fig who actually turned me away form Star Wars as a kid - when I laid eyes on that grey camo and balaclava, man, that was a big deal.
I'm not a diehard fan of RAH, but I still think that Firefly was hugely influential - subconciously or otherwise - in the look of black ops/covert/paramiltary characters in comics and films since then.
But I suppose you could say the same for Snake Eyes.

I used a lot of different parts to make her

-the body is the EMT from 21C
-catsuit if from 21C Matilda along with boots
-the armor is from the Joe Cobra Commander figure painted
-the head sculpt a final fantasy figure ( don't know who)
-glasses from Barbie (yes I've been to the pinkside....and lived)
    -weapons are also 21C
-boom mic / head set I made with a paper clip

Here are some others that have been here before

My first Joe was Stalker... he had camo.. the other first series were plain green.. plus the beret had that cool factor too..
My second favorite figure I got from that line was "Snowjob" (what a name though !) Anyway.. he was cool because of the skis.. I got him for my birthday in 2nd grade. I brought him to school for show and tell...
And then I got Destro.. my favorite bad guy...
