Richard - is this your costume or do you do re-enacting? Re-production or original? Either way it's nice gear. I'm not into Nazis but I do appreciate a good costume.

How old would that be? My mom is 70 and still dresses up for Halloween.

I personally dont like halloween, its an american thing and you can all enjoy it, but here, no thanks, we got our Karneval/Carnivale in the Rheinland/Ruhrgebiet and that should be the only time for us to dress up.

To bad - we do love a good party here in the states. One of the beauties of this country is we have so many diverse cultures. So we do get to enjoy Carnivale, Mardi Gras, dia de los Muertoes, Halloween, St. Patrick's Day and the list goes on and on...

I didn't dress up but my kids did.And for what it's worth Halloween or All Hallow's Eve isn't an American thing. It's also called Samhain's Eve depending on your religious views. It's been celebrated for hundreds of years all over Europe as a matter of fact.It was originally a Pagan holiday as so many others were before it and later converted to a Christian holiday to help convert the Pagans to Christianity.Costumes were worn so as not to be recognised by the dead as a living person as it was the night the dead roamed the Earth.

Did you know that the US tradition of trick or treating was started by the Boy Scouts? Apparently back in the day All Hallows Eve was a night of vandalizim, and cruelty to animals (and people). I think it was in the 1930's that the Boy Scouts started a movement towards a safe and sane Halloween, and that 's when kids started trick or treating.
In a way, both StarrDogg and Paladin are correct.

I was dressed as a PMC! I don't know if that counts, though, as I dress the same every day over here!

Was on an FTX, so I went as a Cadet, I was stunned everyone I was with had the exact same idea.
The good news is, it was warmer than expected, so I was oversnivled...and had stuffed a couple bags of candy and snacks in my ruck so I ended up having a good weekend and just enjoyed myself doing land nav, shooting, and running STX lanes.

Nothing special this year, and few trickertreaters showed up (big dumpster in the front yard from roofing might've scared 'em away). I stood candy watch as a "disgruntled homeowner", sorry no pics. In the past I've met the trickertreaters at the door in a wraithish garb. Back when there used to be more parties, I attended as a samurai, and once as a Para in Indochina. Not as much fun as in the days of me youth, but giving out candy is pretty enjoyable.
As for Stinny, where Halloween's concerned, he's just a very old soul.......very old and rotten, and decaying.....

This was my first year handing out candy, too. I also gave out glowsticks that I got free from work, which the kids loved.
