Hollowpoint goes on a Spree!!!!!!!!!
Well, I went a little crazy last weekend. New baby being in the hoes and all. But, I found a killer deal on a Sharp Aquos 52" lcd tv. So I just had to have it. Now I realize that this cost me about 20 Hot Toys boxed figures, but I think I will survive.
Now, I am a movie lover. I enjoy all kinds of movies from all genres. So I like to enjoy them on quality equipment. My home theatre has undergone some changes and additions over the years. I finally updated my reciever ealier in the summer. I made a huge jump in quality. I went from a Sony Dolby Pro Logic system (not even 5.1) To an Onkyo 7.1 with Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master HD decoding. The a/v system is even THX cetified. That meant I had to upgrade my speakers and wires. Still waiting for the speakers to arrive. I ordered a set of Canton Movie 150 qx. I did upgrade the wire with Monster Cable THX certified wire. I couldn't believe it but this wire is expensive stuff. Cost me over 100 bucks for 50 feet. It is even labelled with a signal flow for proper hookup.
So my system went from looking like this:
To looking like this:
Oops sorry about the Flash glare. Here is a pic without the glare

I still need to hide some of the speaker wire and clean up the component wiring but that will wait as I am not sure I am happy with where I have the components. I watched Hellboy on it last night on Blu-Ray. All I can say is HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tonight I am going to watch Pirates of the Caribbean on Blu_Ray. So I am now ready for Iron Man in Blu-Ray!!!!!!

Seriously although that looks like an awsome rig. Maybe I should cut down on spending on one sixth, save up some cash and buy that set up.... what am I thinking.

Nice system, but next time skip the Monster cable.....most of their marketing is questionable at best. You get better sound moving to a thicker wire, thats where the payoff lies.
Having said that, you already have the wire...and its good quality wire, so enjoy it. But next time, put that extra money into better equipment.
And when the 52" gets "ordinary", think about Front Projection!

Better equipment? Like what? And the wire is nice and thick. I had to use my 12 gauge wire stripper to prep the ends. The only thing that needs upgrading is my speakers and those are on order.

No No i didn't mean better as in "you need better stuff", I meant when you get that upgrade bug again
After awhile that 52 incher....gonna start to seem small...then you're gonna start thinking about blinds/drapes.....how big a screen you can hang from the ceiling or mount on the wall.....where to hang (or place) the Front Projector...
In the mean time, enjoy!
