Sgt. Rock
Francis Lawrence to Direct Sgt. Rock
Rock will no longer be set during WWII, but will make the leap to the future. NOOOOOOO!

Re: Sgt. Rock
Unless this is a period movie I really have no desire at all to see. This is a colossal f-up on their part if they go with this idea, it's terrible. Those DC war comics from the 80's were freakin' awesome and shouldn't be trounced on by an idiot in a suit.

Re: Sgt. Rock

Re: Sgt. Rock
His accent would be explained by the fact his family immigrated to america and his given name would be Rockovich which his parents changed to better assimilate. It also would be easier to infiltrate or pose as a nazi. Howzabout that?

Re: Sgt. Rock
(Shakes head in major disapproval)
It's not Rock if it's not WWII. Hell, every single Sgt. Rock comicwas in that period, I don't think anyone's tried to make a modern-day or Futuristic Sgt. Rock comic. So why a movie?

Re: Sgt. Rock
I loved Rock in the 80's, and still have all my Rock comics from back then. First Joe, now the Rock gets jacked up. Leave my childhood alone!

Re: Sgt. Rock
I think I'm not alone in thinking the military combat scenes from the Transformers movies would have been more G.I.Joe than the actual G.I.Joe movie we actually got.
Honestly, if they're going to go through the trouble of removing Rock from WWII and put him in the future, why bother using the Sgt. Rock character at all? I mean, they could just whip up an original character and avoid the IP rights altogether.

Re: Sgt. Rock
@Sparten Rex: firggin hilarious man -
I was never a huge fan of the comic myself, by I agree that Holly should leave well enough alone. Same thing is happening with the new Red Dawn - based on what I know about the premise of the remake, it could/should be it's own movie.
On the other hand, Holly has destroyed a lot of my childhood heroes, so what's one more?
