Q -- current Army ervice members, former Ranger needs your help ..
Any OSWers out there who are active right now, I have a buddy who is former Ranger in the 80's need your help to decorate his son's face for holloween. An actual picture of you in your face paint would be nice. Thanks in advance~!

I ordered the new digital camo for him.

would the water melon look work? The whole face is light green followed by 3 black stripes diagonally across

I think he's looking to know what guys are doing to blend in with the new uniforms. Marine types can help too. Both uniforms are now digital.

Ive seen the digital type pattern being applied to the face and it takes some skill to get it right. Either you get it right or you look like a clown with polka dots/ chicken pocks/ severe acne on your face.
Most guys still just use the older method of striping their faces. Works just as well in my experience

here's a pic of some Special Forces Qualification Course students from a article about allowing international students attend the course...there's a Canadian Soldier with CADPAT with face camo and a US Army Soldier with face paint...looks like old school color/technique as Jediguy pointed out. http://news.soc.mil/releases/News%20...20students.jpg

To be honest, if we're talking ACUs, we really don't use face paint any more, but you could search under google images to find a picture. Oh BTW, I am active and I am a Ranger. RLTW!

Hey Ranger! How 'bout leadin' the way on updating your profile?! Last I looked, it's been a while since you were located at Ft. Leavenworth! Yeesh! Nice back piece though!

Re: Q -- current Army ervice members, former Ranger needs your help ..
I was always taught to put the dark color over places that stick out on your face and just the opposite for those that dont. You especially want to make sure you use dark on the nose, chin and cheeks. If you use diagonal stripes you can somewhat accomplish this. I am surprised that you army guys don't use face paint. In a woodland environment it is crucial for patrolling/recon. Hell, I learned this first from an Army Ranger SFC at my college ROTC Ranger program. This was in 1976-77 and he was a Vietnam vet. The guy was fanatical about camouflage and concealment during patrolling.
