Neat! I'm fond of the "what if" stuff, so these are right up my alley.

Thanx for the heads ups Joey, I've not seen any of these before.

Thanks Russ! Glad you liked it.

Check out this documentary about the Northrop YF-23
Stealth fighter which was their entry to the ATF (Advanced Tactical
Fighter) Gen 5 competition of the 1990s. It had lost out to the Lockheed
YF-22 Raptor - which the United States Airforce had chosen for their next
generation of fighter aircraft to fullfil it's role as an Air Dominance,
Rule the Enemy Skies platform. Even though the Northrop YF-23 which btw,
has a more elegant and sleeker look about it's design than the F-22 Raptor,
the YF-23 continues to live on and here's why. If you study the current Russian
Sukhoi PAK-FA T-50 silhouette profile from it's sideview, topview and frontal
view, you will find many similarities to the YF-23 planform views. Google the
images of the YF-23 and PAK-FA T-50 and compare them closely and you'll see what
I'm talking about. Is it possible that the Russian had borrowed some of the YF-23's
design elements and constructed their own machine to reap the benefits which the YF-23
had aptly demonstrated? You be the judge. In my opinion, the YF-23 could fly circles
around the JSF F-35 which is currently ordered by the Air Force, Navy and Marines aviation
    squadrons. Just sayin'....

Ah, I know it well... we (Western Museum of Flight) have PAV-2 "Black Widow" on display!

I've had the fortune to meet and get to know many of the people involved with the YF-23 program, and it's still a heartbreak to all of them that their aircraft wasn't given the production contract.

Truly an impressive aircraft. It led to the F/B-23 and Navy's NATF proposals, and the J-UCAS / UCAS-D / X-47 programs.
