Atlanta-Gwinnett area stores?
I'm brand new to this hobby and am looking at starting building some 1/6 bodies mailnly concentrating on the NAVSPECWAR genre, since that's who I was around with for so long. Any good retailers or stores in the Atlanta-Gwinnett area?

There used to be a place called "The War Room" in Gwinnett County, dont know where they moved to though. Boxed Dragon, BB and some loose stuff last time I was there.

We will be going on saturday (Sept. 29th) to the Nat. Convention just to see what the dealers have as far as TS/HT etc. but are not doing the package thing. I really dont do Hasbro stuff so it wasnt worth it. Should be a good time though, I have been to 2 National Conventions..Wash. and San Antonio. Made great freinds that are still freinds.

The Nat'l Joe convention is a GREAT place to buy as much 1/6th stuff as your collector's heart desires. They have everything from vintage Joes to high-end HT. The package is a good value for the activities and collector's exclusives, but it can run into the $$$'s.
The custom figure and diorama contests are on Saturday, and the entries are always breathtaking. Plenty of great bargains to be found if you're willing to hunt... My recommendation - Even if you go for just ONE day, DON'T MISS IT!
PS: Last time I was at the War-room was at the new location. They had some DML stuff and the loose items (DML, SS, HB) from "Foot Soldiers" was kind of picked over and needed refreshing. As the salesclerk explained "it doesn't happen on a regular schedule."

unfortunately, for those of us in georgia, it seems that we only get to use the internets for our parts.

Wow.....lots of Georgians.
I've been here for about 3 years almost. Haven't seen much in 1/6th goods. Tis a shame.
If I had the resources, I'd open a store here......I'd actually thought about it before, but I didn't think it would keep me from getting in the poor house.

You'd have to diversify. Sell comic books, or something else to keep the store afloat. Comic books would be my sugestion personaly. they're generaly big enough busniss to keep any "geek" store running.

Yeah my thoughts exactly.
I kinda geeked out when I went to New York a few months ago. They have alot of toy stores that were awesome. Forbidden Planet was a dream. Loved it, although the people who work there were kinda sh!tty.
That store was kind of a "everything" store.
Another place was a comic store, that I can't remember all of a sudden, but they had two stores. Lower level all comics and upper level all toys. Really cool. Kinda what I want to do.
Oh and as a note, stay away from Toytokyo. They had things on display that "weren't for sale, they were the owners' personal collection", with no signs that they weren't for sale. Real shady business practice, I walked out without buying anything, and I was gonna spend some money there too.
