I went to Rutgers and I am not familiar with any stores. There is a flea market on Rt. 18 that has some toys, but I don't think there is anything specifically 1:6.
In fact, I don't think there are any 1:6 scale retail stores in all of NJ...

I remember there use to be a place around Red Bank which is I think 45 mins away. If you wanna take a drive over there. If you do a google search you could find it. Otherwise theres a comic book store in Lawrenceville (Comic Relief) in the Mercer Mall right off of rt.1 that does special orders. You can talk to either Dale or Ed (the owner) and they can see if their suppliers have it. They're good guys.

Re: East Brunswick, N. J.
I didn't realize Steve's Comic Relief was still around. I used to go for their 1/2 off New Year's sales. I don't recall ever seeing any 1/6 stuff, but I haven't been there in over 10 years...
Do you know the name of the Red Bank store? I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything. I live about 15 mins from Red Bank now.

Or you could drive to NYC - less then an hour drive There are a few stores in Manhattan, mostly though its Comics related and not much in terms of military lines. And of course, there are our store Out of the way in Brooklyn, but at least you won't have such a hard time finding parking...

It's been years but there was a model train shop in southern new jersey about 7 or 8 years ago that had a whole mess of 1/6th stuff. I was 11ish at the time, I used to buy DML figures there. No idea what the name of the place was, but I know it was within 30 minutes of philly.

That may be it, I remember the figures being on the left, in a little cove of shelves when you walked in, and the right was a big long counter filled with trains and other such paraphernalia, as was the wall behind it.

No. Don't know the name of the store, but I could ask next time I'm there. Think I'm going to stop by today. They don't carry 1/6th figures, but if you know you want to buy one they'll order you one. That's how I got my DC Direct 12" figures. I don't know about military themed ones, but the comic ones like Green Lantern and Nightwing they will be as long as they're being produced. There is another place in Milltown (20 mins from East Brunswick I think) called Maint Street Hobbies they have a ton of 1/6 scale figures also including military figures.

Alexei. Where is you store? I've driven up and down Emmons Ave and can't seem to find your store. What is it near? Is it near the Applebees? I looked at the map and it says you more towards the Belt Parkway. What 2 stores are you buy?

Re: East Brunswick, N. J.
There are actually two stores in Red Bank that one can visit:
Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash
35 Broad St
Red Bank, NJ 07701
They are generally a wall to wall comic book store, and they have some fun memorabilia from many of Kevin Smith's movies. They do have some figures, but from what I remember, the figures are more 'movie' themed (Jason, monsters, etc) than any military or other genre. I also remember some of the figures being priced a little high.
If nothing else, its a nice place to visit if you are a fan of Kevin Smith's, and want to see some of the locations around Red Bank that he used in his movies.
Hobby Masters/Toy Masters
62 White Street
Red Bank, NJ 07701
These are actually two different stores, run by the same people, and are right next door to each other. I know they have an amazing selection of models and supplies for almost any hobby or game, but I don't remember them having any figures (its been a while since I've been up there).
There is another store, further south in Sea Girt, that had a nice selection of figures, but off the top of my head I can't remember its name.
