    Cool!

Can we expect a release date for 3rd quarter 2030 or will it be postponed?

Re: Threezero The Walking Dead 1:6 Michonne

I think Threezero has done a great job with Michonne's outfit, hair, accessories, and the "Pets", but her facial expression/likeness could be better. I'm also turned off by the big gap between where her wrist and hand connect. I understand the desire for the appearance of a smooth arm on characters in sleeveless attire, or that appear shirtless, but I'm concerned about the longevity of the vinyl or silicone material being used by Threezero to cover the arms. As with GOT's Daenerys, this "skin" looks a bit too thick to me, which is unfortunate because my first 1:6 figure was Threezero's Tyrion, and he's perfect IMHO.

The likeness is the best we've seen so far that's for sure.

But it's funny how the pets have been out for, what now...2 years and finally Michonne decides
to show up. Shouldn't it have been Michonne first? And she's got her very 1st outfit on how many seasons later?

Threezero...you're a little late to the game.

    .
Forget it being Michonne for a minute. I'm just thrilled to see an African American woman sculpt out there, and a very good one at that. And not fully seamless but seamless arms at least. I'm not being SJW about this, promise, but it's a crime Phicen has never gone there, despite what, about four dozen figures and bodies?

It's not entirely fair to say Phicen hasn't done any dark skinned figures (I don't want to use the term African American as to not be exclusive). It is true there are not many, but I own their "Halle Barry" which you could argue isn't as dark a tone as you would prefer, but the attempt was there. I am also fairly certain there was at least one generic dark body when they first started out.

Seriously? This is the argument for AA women previously being represented by Phicen: Phicen v5.1 Base Body Photo Review (PHOTO HEAVY) ? Look at Edwick's pics, the figure is actually indistinguishable from a Tan, and is less dark skinned even than Halle Berry herself, and IRW Halle Berry is pretty light skinned anyway. And no, there was no generic Phicen dark body AFAIK. So vailus I appreciate the reminder but it only makes me applaud louder that this Michonne is showing up.

Look up the post "Phicen Skin Tones" on this very site. It is in fact the generic Phicen I was thinking of, described as "chocolate" by the TC, and sporting an afro. Actually look at the included pictures as well. Also, I take it you don't actually have the Halle Barry, I do, and mine is darker than the tan body, about the same as the dark sinned body on the above discussion in the row of 4. Again, maybe not the jet black you want, but definately more dark than pale. I wasn't even making the argument that it was a major achievement, 2 out of 100 is a poor showing, but give what credit is due or you lose all credibility.

Number 1, the figure you refer to doesn't even exist as far as Phicen records are concerned, except it seems some or all of a figure that shipped ended up with somewhat darker skin than advertised based on in-hand pics, and possibly as an outright manufacturing error. It doesn't remotely look AA in any other way, even less so than the Triad AA, the Playmates Uhura, or the few other AA Female figures we've ever had. Ethnicity doesn't equal skin tone. Number 2: for gosh's sake, how is it possible no one in that original post or apparently here actually knows what an Afro is? Believe me that's nothing anything like an Afro hair. And Number 3 I admit I was't thinking as far back as the embryo Phicens of 5 years ago though I concede you did say "when they first started out."

I agree with you about "giving what credit is due" if credit is due. But there's such a thing as stretching a point, and then there's stretching a point into a different zip code. Which comes around to ending on a positive note and giving Threezero credit for what they've achieved here -- which also includes authentic facial features and bone structure not seen in 1/6 before.

Re: Threezero The Walking Dead 1:6 Michonne

I promise to let this horse die. I really didn't care this much to begin with, but your points just aren't very good. 1. I don't know what you are talking about with the figure not existing, the previously mentioned "Halle Barry" figure isn't actually listed as such, it is actually "African American Version 4.0". Based on Phicen generation numbers that does mean there were three previous versions. Along with their currently on preorder Eartha Kitt, which has actually been up for a couple of months, makes at least five such African American body types they have produced. Phicen used completly generic/disposable heads in the beginning, and still do to an extent. The aforementioned Halle Barry is easily identifiable even without listing her as such (you seemed know what I was talking about right off) and the same could be said for the Eartha Kitt, much closer than the Julie Newmar in my opinion.

    2. Gosh indeed, is that a great repensentation of an afro? Not even close. Is it quite obvious that a company that didn't even do long straight hair very well (I refer again to those pictures) was attempting to represent an afro on a dark skinned body type? Obviously. You seem to dismis the effort because of the execution, but Phicen has always been more about the body and articulation than the realistic heads. That said they have gotten better, but even now they are hit and miss with heads.

I wasn't knocking Threezero, I'm happy with this release and plan to get it, I just have this weird sense of fairness and found it wrong to criticise a company who actually has made efforts in this regard. By the way, the Eartha Kitt with her facial features and bone structure predates this release. Just giving credit where it's due.

Re: Threezero The Walking Dead 1:6 Michonne

Michonne has been on my wish list for ages, almost too long really that the release is bittersweet.

About the timing of the release: I suppose it depends if you're more of a comic or TV series fan, but the show seems to have peaked. I still love it but it's losing huge percentages with each of the past couple seasons. There are even former-fans who continue to linger in TWD groups. It's no longer hot, and the Michonne we see in this figure is a Michonne of the past, still badass, but we're several seasons on and she has had evolved from her 'pet' stage. This figure is a couple years too late.

About the figure itself: Following the theme of the posts here, it's great to see a very dark female figure on the 1/6 market. I'm somewhere in the middle whether Phicen hasn't tried, but I'm leaning to they've been very 'cautious' by using their more 'universal' skin tone palette. When they produce a very dark toned steel figure base (like Michonne's tone), I'll applaud them. Granted, they're even worse in the males with neither true pale or dark tones.
